Famous for her bold and edgy personal aesthetic, the CO-Founder of OUTHOUSE Jewellery Kaabia Grewal has left us smitten yet again with her eclectic choices. After witnessing her uniquely stylish bachelorette in Mykonos and her unconventionally chic bride squad proposal trip, we couldn't wait for the unparalleled affair her wedding would be. And boy, we're giving it to you, we're bowled over by the amazingly bizarre extravaganza it was. Choosing an equally unique destination for her wedding, Phu Quoc Kiên Giang, Vietnam, Kaabia and Rushang's wedding was a sight to behold.
What stole our hearts amidst all the unique pre-wedding ceremonies and themed wedding though was the Tribal themed Mehndi extending into a sundowner sangeet night. Yes, you read that freakin' right! Of all the varied mehndi themes that we've come across, Kaabia & Rushang's tribal themed mehndi ceremony called Kabanng Le Hoi was a perfect inspirational blend of exotic worlds and diverse cultures. In fact, everything, right from their contemporary offbeat looks and their jewellery to the entire decor looked like a perfectly knit tribal affair with a voguish dash of modernism.
Well, while we're not yet done absorbing in the uniqueness of this Mehndi, we'd like to take you through it with all the deets and every little element that made this bash a worldly experience!
Kaabia & Rushang for the day slipped into coordinating outfits by the ace designer duo Shivan & Narresh. Clad in deep wine patterned shirt with black trousers and a beaded tribal necklace Rushang looked absolutely party ready. As for Kaabia, she slipped into flared-legged pants in the matching fabric. She teamed up her pants with a cold shoulder crop top with colourful embroideries and tasselled sleeves.
While her entire ensemble was ornamented with shells and unique tribal beads she edged up her outfit by donning a queenly body gear made of sticks, lending her the perfect tribal look. A custom made couture tribal necklace and limited edition enameled handcuffs from OUTHOUSE along with lots of rings and white henna tattoos completed her look!
The jewellery and accessories for the Kabanng tribe were from OUTHOUSE itself. The custom curated tribal jewels were brought to life using lavish feathers, intricate enameling and other elements like colorful Sphinx, shells and ram heads. A modern take on traditional tribal jewels, the Kabanng jewellery undoubtedly was a class apart.
The phenomenally done decor by Silhouette Events had set some major standards for themed decor! Elements like cane and jute seatings, rugs and cushions in tribal prints, wooden spears, lush ferns, foliage and flowers, canopies, candles and other tribal elements adorned the entire venue lending authentic tribal vibes.
A never-seen-before photo op wherein, performers dressed up as contemporary tribal people kept posing making up for a live photobooth for people to get clicked at. We're are blown away at this idea! Like, literally! (Grab, grab!)
Sticking to the theme of the mehndi Nana Henna Design & Project Henna made sure to have everybody's hands etched in some stunning tribal mehndi designs. Not to forget the design tattoos and makeup that they did in white.
