A baraat on bikes from Leh to the banks of Pangong Lake where the bride and groom exchanged vows at 16000 ft. under a mandap made up of local prayer flags, this couple’s intimate destination wedding in Ladakh is breaking the conventional norms. Shachi and Rikhil’s wedding is an example of how you can steer clear of a traditional wedding setting and still make your vows to each other with your loved ones around you. Perfectly conceptualized and captured by their own founded team - A Knotty Tale, this wedding will win your hearts making you gasp in awe every now and then and we’re super sure of that.
Let’s get you rolling through their cutesy love story and an equally offbeat wedding in Ladakh.

Shachi and Rikhil met 7 years ago on a road trip to Scotland and hence began a thrilling journey of these two filmmakers. Wanting a unique wedding affair that’s special to them and with being avid bikers, Ladakh had to be their place to exchange those soulful wedding vows. Because after all, only hardcore bikers know the real essence of riding on the unending land of Ladakh.

Their mehndi ceremony was hosted at The Silk Route, Leh and was one colorful fun and private affair. Whereas, for the wedding, the troupe suited themselves at The Pangong Sarai and The Pangong Hermitage.
However, their super cool baraat was the highlight of the whole wedding. The entire baraat rode on bikes from Leh to banks of Pangong Lake where Shachi and Rikhil’s simplistic yet serene wedding ceremony took place.

For their wedding the couple wore self designed simplistic outfits. While Rikhil wore a white sherwani paired with dhoti pants, Shachi wore a minimalistic red lehenga paired with a lightly embroidered bell sleeved blouse which had an attached dupatta. Later as it grew cold, they got into their comfy white and red jackets from ASOS. The couple kept their wedding looks totally sober and comfortable and with a wedding that adventurous, everything was worth it.

Talking about the set up of the wedding, the couple chose a simple setting with local prayer flags in multiple hues as they were quite sure of not tampering the original beauty of Ladakh.
The vast skies above and the gorgeous picturesque backdrop made for a heavenly and serene setting that overshadowed all luxuriously done weddings like how!
