Bringing us some of the most awe-inspiring bridalwear, the India Couture Week 2021 has recently concluded on a high note. The haute couture extravaganza was nothing short of a glam affair that has left us wanting more! And honestly, we cannot stop going gaga over these amazing presentations by the designers.

However, as the ICW comes to an end, we're left with some amazing fashion trends to reminisce upon. From frills and fringes to tassels, statement shoulders and plunging necklines, this fashion week has tonnes of bridal fashion inspo to offer. And we cannot wait to see these trends play a big role in 2021-22 weddings!

So let’s dive right into everything gorgeously eccentric that’s trending in bridal outfits.

ICW Fashion Trends For 2021-22 Weddings

Pearl Veil Jewellery

A trend that we first spotted on bride Rhea Kapoor, and one that designer Anamika Khanna fully embraced, pearl veils are just downright gorgeous. Rhea let go of the quintessential dupatta and, instead, opted for a vintage pearl veil by Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, leaving everyone in awe. Pearl Veils are a statement piece that will surely steal the spotlight on your wedding with their ability to make a bride stand out!

Plunging Necklines

Let's be honest, blouses with plunging necklines have their own unique fan-following! We've seen a variety of blouse designs spring up for brides, be it backless, full-sleeved, halter neck, or even off-shoulder. But nothing tickles our fashion senses like a nice plunge neck blouse (or commonly called a deep neck blouse) that almost all designers have embraced for the ICW.

Bohemian Elements

Paying homage to the most intricate crafts of India, few designers opted to add the boho element to their design. And we're all for it! In fact, we're sure that these designs would pair perfectly with the brides and grooms of today. Bohemian outfits are millennial-friendly and we need to see more of them in 2021-22 weddings. So brides, be ready to bring forth your inner gipsy goddess!

Long Veils & Dupattas

Every bride deserves to look like a million bucks on her wedding day. One way to achieve that look is by slaying a gorgeous long veil or dupatta. In fact, from Manish Malhotra to Falguni & Shane Peacock, long veils and dupattas are one thing that's consistent in most of these outfits that we adore. After all, who doesn't like a scintillating dupatta cascading down a bride's outfit?

Statement Shoulders & Sleeves

The masterminds behind this amazing statement sleeve and shoulder presentation were the designer duo Pankaj and Nidhi and designer Suneet Verma. Though starkly different collections, the designers presented structured clothes at the ICW 2021 with unique iridescent hues that made their collection nothing short of magical. One of the elements that stood out was the statement shoulders and puffy sleeves that we're all rooting to see more of in weddings!

Bring Forth The Glam Vibes

From Gaurav Gupta's Universal Love to Amit Aggarwal’s Metanoia, we're sure our uber-cool and fashionista brides aren't going to waste a second before choosing one of these glamorous outfits. They're glittering, fabulous and innovative. Plus, they'll make the perfect addition to any bride's trousseau for her cocktail or reception party. We cannot wait to fall head over heels for the looks the future brides will present!

Co-ordinated Blouses & Lehengas

We all know that a bride carefully creates her wedding outfit ensembles. And they're always out there looking for fresh ideas that will make their looks memorable. Usually, the blouses are in contrast with the lehenga or colour blocked. However, this time at the ICW we witnessed numerous designers opting to keep the entire design uniform, with the embroideries and colours of the blouse matching the lehenga. When paired with a contrasting dupatta or even a matching dupatta, the resulting look is just gorgeous.

A Little Throwback To Traditonal Fashion

If ICW brings forth anything more promenantly than freshness then it's the fact that no design ever gets old. Traditional outfits truly hold a gorgeous old word charm to them, bringing us back to the age of our mothers and grandmothers. We've already seen a few brides embrace such vibes and are all set to see more of it!

Heavy Borders

Honestly, this was a trend we weren't expecting to see anytime soon. However, heavy, broad borders were all the fad a few years back and have made a comeback at the  India Couture Week 2021. Let's just say that whether they're scalloped borders or straight lines, the heavy work on them has us in awe!

Rainbow Embroideries

From Rahul Mishra to Reynu Tandon, outfits with multi-coloured embroideries were exclusive but not unnoticed. In fact, colourful embroidery is so in trend these days that we do not doubt even for a second that we've seen the last of it. Take notes brides, because rainbow thread embroidery is definitely making headlines this wedding season!
