The wedding that you're going to get bowled over today is one of our most favorite weddings we've featured on the blog. Not just for its aesthetic and dreamy look, but also for how this couple embarked upon this journey years ago in a total filmy style. Looking at their happiest (and stylish) best throughout their wedding revelries, Ritika & Akshay's wedding was an equally joyous affair with spirited celebrations and a love-filled aura entwining everybody in its surreal charm.
The wedding that was so exceptionally planned by Designer Events Inc., was a perfect blend of dreams and voguish trends making it a one-of-a-kind wedding. With breathtaking decor done by Comme Segno Vero by Ankiit Malhotra and the lens of ShutterDown Photography infusing life into the photos, this wedding was a complete success in the most phenomenal way possible.
Hosted at different venues throughout New Delhi, this wedding had its own personal & unique elements that made this wedding all that it should be—a heartwarming union of love. Be it drafting their eight vows together, their super unique hashtag #AReasonToBelieve or the design of their matching tattoos being incorporated throughout their wedding in forms of decor, invites & stationaries, every little thing fir in perfectly together.
Well, without increasing your anticipation further, let's take your right into this.
Ritika and Akshay's glam cocktail sangeet night was the perfect way to embark on this fun-filled celebration of love. Hosted at The Mansion, Hyatt Regency, the night was all about champagne and unstoppable grooving feet. The color theme being all blue and gold, the ballroom glistened in those hues with cascading shimmery adornments, huge centerpieces, candle baubles, and floral arrangements. With loads of performances and each and every member of both the families being a part of those performances, the night was one joyous affair.
For the ceremony, the couple chose to slip into Shantanu & Nikhil outfits looking their fashionable best. Clad in a black bandhgala jacket with an extended drape adjoined at the pocket on a side Akshay looked royally crisp. Ritika whereas, wore a stunning marsala off-shoulder cape-sleeved gown with 3D motifs which she teamed up with minimal diamond jewellery.
Hosted at a private farm house in a combined ceremony the Mehndi brunch and haldi was one helluva sunshining and fun spirited affair. With beer pong, plenty of bhaang shots, pretty mehndi favors and dance offs amongst the families, the day made for an absolute joyous time spent together. The mehndi-haldi seating though was the highlight of the event. Adding a bright and beautiful dash to the setup, oranges, butterfly cutouts and flowers in hues of pastel and burnt orange brought the entire white & pastel wreath seating to life. What stood out in the gorgeous seating was the yellow installation of the matching tattoos that Ritika and Akshay got done years ago.
For the day, Ritika chose a pretty yellow lehenga from Sabyasachi's Endless Summer Collection while Akshay donned the classic bandhgala-flared kurta ensemble from Shantanu & Nikhil in marsala shade. The couple looked so freshly sublime in their charming auras.
The wedding that was hosted at the Taj Palace, New Delhi was an absolutely overwhelming and magical ceremony with sunset pheras as Ritika always envisioned. Beautiful peach drapes with pink & coral flower arrangements gorgeously decked up the dome shaped mandap that stood out. Lighting it all up was a striking chandelier in the center with a wooden and glass candles backdrop completing the look.
Finding that "oufit of the dreams" was literally a cakewalk for Ritika. She chose her stunning Sabyasachi ivory lehenga in just 10 minutes and boy she looked so radiant. Moreover, her glistening jewels and flushed pink makeup added mutifolds of charm to her look. Akshay as well looked nothing less than a prince charming. Dressed in a beige golden cowled kurta with a light green sherwani from Shantanu & Nikhil he looked debonair and crisp. A multi-stringed pearl mala, a printed safa and a pretty stole completed his look.
The evening wedding was subsequently followed by a reception dinner for which Akshay slipped into a classic black tux while Ritika decided to stay in her Sabyasachi but didn't mind letting her tresses open.
While Akshay, an MBA geek, was born and brought up in Delhi, Ritika born and brought-up in London with a love for bollywood dialogues and India is a total desi at heart. While being the total opposites, what brought the two of them together was their shared love for movies, food and of course, each other. The bride connotes-
