Anjuli And Ravi's Fabulous Wedding in Udaipur

Anjuli and Ravi met each other at Kings College, London. From being friends for over 2 years, the duo started dating back in 2014. For friends and family, though they were perfect for each other, they were also an unlikely duo, considering that Anjuli is a dentist and fashion blogger by profession and Ravi is a self-employed trader.

A Surprise Proposal

Their proposal story is even more heartwarming, for it was completely unexpected! When Anjuli was vacationing with her girls in Mykonos, Ravi surprised her by flying all the way. Once there, Ravi popped the question, along with the ring, and Anjuli was left surprised and speechless. Of course, after being surprised by his heartwarming gesture, she said YES!

When the planning began, Anjuli told her planner, Divya Chadha that they were looking for something epic with heritage value and a panoramic view. And they found their ideal location in the form of Fateh Garh, in Udaipur. "We wanted to get married somewhere traditional and at an elevation to get beautiful views and photos," revealed Anjuli, who wished to capture her wedding in a scenic background, and share the documentation with her followers.

Marrakesh Themed Mehendi & Welcome Party

The first event was the Mehendi, which also served as the welcome party, was modelled after a super chilled out vibe. So, the couple decided to theme their Mehendi function around Marrakesh! From a DIY perfume bar where guests could create their scents to relaxing Arabic music and even a bangle maker and parrot fortune teller, the couple left no stones unturned to recreate the Moroccan setting.

For her Mehendi, Anjuli was dressed in a gorgeous yellow lehenga with floral embroidery and Gota Patti work by designer Tamanna Punjabi Kapoor, while Ravi colour-coordinated his outfit, donning a white kurta-pyjama with a Nehru jacket with yellow floral print from designer Varun Bahl.

Haldi & Ganesh Puja

The morning following the festivities of the Mehendi ceremony, the couple and their families had a Ganesh Puja and Haldi ceremony. Embracing the Rajasthani vibe, the couple decided to keep the colours bright pinks and yellows. For her Haldi ceremony, Anjuli dressed up in a scintillating saree by Sabyasachi while Ravi wore a kurta-pyjama along with a jacket by Varun Bahl.

The Royal Wedding

Unlike regular couples, Anjuli and Ravi mixed things up a bit and held their wedding before their sangeet ceremony. The afternoon, after their Haldi ceremony, Anjuli and Ravi held their wedding ceremony on the main terrace, surrounded by the hills of Udaipur. For her wedding, looking beautiful as ever, Anjuli donned a ravishing grey lehenga with golden embroidery by Manish Malhotra, while Ravi wore a floral print sherwani by Varun Bahl. The entire venue was set in pastel colours, with their mandap decorated in flowers of pink, peach, and ivory in colour.

"When Ravi and I saw each other at the mandap, it was a truly magical and emotional moment," Anjuli said, "It felt surreal but also so right."

The Enchanted Forest Themed Sangeet

Anjuli and Ravi's sangeet ceremony took place on the evening of their wedding. The sangeet had an Enchanted Forest theme, based on the infamous Disney's enchanted forest setting. As huge fans of Disneyworld, which they have visited almost 8 times now, the couple integrated their favourite elements into their sangeet function through whimsical decor, which didn't look childish but classy and elegant. Retro clocks, books, candles, and much more, every guest present raved about the decor of the evening. For the sangeet, Anjuli wore a fairy-like lehenga by Manish Malhotra. She said, "For my Sangeet, I opted for another look by Manish Malhotra. I wanted a completely different vibe to the wedding earlier that day, so I went for a statement velvet green-winged sleeve blouse. It changed the lookup completely and got so many compliments on this look in particular!"

Another element that stood out was the table decoration, where the decorators incorporated Disney and fairytale creatures in the table names, which were illustrated by Artist Hiral Mehta, which were hung from the long table arrangements. Anjuli said, "This whole evening was like my dream! Ravi and I are both big Disney fans and love fairytales so we decided on an enchanted forest theme for our Sangeet, which was held at a different venue to the main wedding. We opted for long table settings based around a stage as we had a few speeches and dance performances this evening!"

One of the other elements that stood out that evening, apart from Anjuli's outfit, was the bar, which had magical themed cocktails in the flavour of popping candy, candyfloss, etc. and a botanical gin bar which looked and felt like a fairytale! She added, "The main bar was a circular bar designed around a big tree on the lawn! The hanging chandeliers looked so gorgeous over it and made a nice feature point."

Pool Party

After the festivities from the day and night before, the next morning was more relaxed. The wedding brigade chilled by the pool and enjoyed a light brunch. The newlyweds opted to reimagine their pool party, mixing the vibe of Mykonos with a Nikki Beach Club theme, reminiscent of their engagement and proposal at Mykonos, along with their love for Nikki Beach Club. The entire afternoon went on with relaxing music, with everyone feeling like they were at some beach in Europe.

Reception Party

The finale to this amazing destination wedding was the couple's black-tie reception. Simple yet formal, they had a lovely reception with music by Saxophonist Ryan Sadri who created a classy ambiance for everyone. To top that, they had a white and mirror theme, which encompassed mirrored tabletops decorated with white flowers, candles, and fairy lights. For the final event, Anjuli wore a silver gown by Manish Malhotra, while Ravi wore a Hugo Boss Grey Velvet Tux Jacket.

To everyone surprise, the groom showcased his musical skills by playing the piano, marking this as the highlight of not just the evening but the entire wedding.
