Introducing Akriti & Arun
"Arun and I met in London 9 years ago while we were studying there, through a mutual friend," Akriti shares, "We hit it off instantly and have been inseparable since then."
For the couple, moving back to Delhi from London was tough at first. However, the duo made it work because they were sure that they were in for the long haul! Their relationship was unique since it wasn't just two people, but two best friends together for the longest time. Then, after 9 years of being together through thick and thin, Akriti and Arun Johari finally decided to tie the knot in Delhi.
The #AkiScoredARun wedding was a luxurious yet fun affair held at various glamourous locations in New Delhi, including ITC Maurya and The Imperial Hotel!
The Sagan and Mehendi took place at the Nandiya Gardens in ITC Maurya, New Delhi. It was a brunch function with vintage decor that held an old-world charm and a play of pastel colours. The couple chose a light pink colour scheme and a marquee as their centrepiece, which gave the function a very luxurious yet homely vibe. Akriti Madan dressed up in a beautiful sunshine yellow lehenga with multi-coloured embroidery by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, along with light makeup and an open hairdo. Arun, on the other hand, chose a powder blue sherwani with silver foil embroidery by designer Karan Arora. Akriti's mehndi was another attractive element of the function. The bride had her mehendi artist incorporate various motifs into the design including Radha-Krishna, Shri Ganesh, the holy cow and images of bride and groom!

The couple had their morning pheras at a private farm in New Delhi, which was an intimate affair. Akriti wore a gorgeous light pink lehenga by Rahul Mishra with purple and green floral threadwork paired with large polki jewellery, along with muted, natural makeup and a gorgeous floral bun. Simultaneously, Arun dressed up in a pastel blue kurta with a white dhoti and blue embroidered stole.
The wedding function was held at The Imperial, New Delhi in the presence of the couple's friends and families. The night function's decor was royal and traditional with Mughal prints, large lights and dark reds in play. The bride is dressed up in a stunning red lehenga by Anamika Khanna along with gorgeous jewellery, dramatic eye makeup and a gorgeous Grecian braids updo. Arun, similarly, chose to match the royal theme and wore a dapper off white sherwani with gold embroidery by designer Karan Arora.
Wedding Photography & Videography: Badal Raja Company
The photography and videography were done by Badal Raja. Raja Ji and his team are such a pleasure to work with. They are the best that there is out there. My family and I absolutely love their work. The photos and videos have come out so beautiful, I can literally re-live each moment of the wedding through their photos. He believes in capturing the moment as is and doesn't make it look posed.
Wedding Decorator: Aura by Gautam Vedi
I was very sure I wanted Gautam to do the decor for my functions. The Sagan & Mehendi was a brunch at Nandiya Gardens and I wanted it to have a vintage, old world-charm and play with pastels. We chose a light pink colour scheme and we had this marquee in the centre, which gave a lounge feel, yet very homely. The night function was to host all our friends and family. For this function, I wanted a very royal, traditional decor with laser cuts and Mughal prints. Gautam executed this to perfection.
Bridal Makeup Artists:
SP Eastland - SP Eastland did my makeup for both the Sagan- Mehendi and Pheras and she's absolutely fantastic at what she does and so professional.
Namrata Soni - Namrata Soni did my makeup for the wedding. We did dramatic eyes and Grecian braids updo for this function. She's the absolute best and it was always my dream to get my wedding makeup done from her!
Mehendi Artist: Harin Mehendi
My mehendi was done by Harin Ji and his team. They're extremely professional and punctual. I had asked for Radha-Krishna, Shri Ganesh, holy cow, bride and groom for my mehendi design and he executed it so brilliantly.
