Yami Gautam and the snippets from her wedding continue to dominate our Instagram feeds, and we’re loving every bit of it! The actress tied the knot with the filmmaker Aditya Dhar in a secret intimate wedding at her farmhouse in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh earlier in June. However, it is her no-fuss and simplistic bridal look that left everyone amazed!

When an actress gets married, one expects the glam quotient to be high and witness an array of bridal looks featuring multiple designer ensembles and gobs of lust-worthy jewels. But wait, nothing as such happened when Yami got married.  Ditching the quintessential norms, she embraced her cultural roots and rocked a simplistic yet striking look at her wedding. A red saree, natural-looking makeup, and traditional gold jewellery; that is it! But wait, we have scouted some more deets for you all! And they are astonishing, to say the least! Did you know Yami Gautam’s bridal look brought together 3 generations of her family? Well, that’s true. And oh, Yami Gautam did not hire a professional make-up artist to do her bridal makeup. Then who got her ready for the D-day? Well, read on as we spill the secrets one by one.

Decoding Yami Gautam's Wedding Look In Red Saree

To begin with, Yami wore her mother’s 33-year-old saree for the wedding. Yup, she ditched designer sarees for a piece of clothing that has an emotional essence. The silk saree came in a maroon colour and featured intricate gold details all over. Now, the dupatta that she wore as a veil was a gift from her maternal grandmother who could not attend the wedding celebrations. Even the Pahadi Nath that Yami wore was a gift from her grandmother. Heirlooms for the win, always!

For the makeup, Yami made the most of her own skills. She did her own wedding make-up and did a fab job. Kohl-rimmed eyes, a natural base, a tad bit of highlighter, and striking red lipstick. What about the hairstyle? Well, that’s when the bridesmaid came to the rescue. Yami’s sister Surilie took charge of the hairdo and tied it in a neat bun, further amped with a veil and gold mang tikka.
