BECAUSE A MOMENT IS ENOUGH TO LET LOVE HAPPEN!!
They say, sometimes you can stay together everlastingly and never fall in love, and sometimes, just meeting once is enough to know the right one for you. And this is how the love story of Sophia and Sarfraz began, followed with the traditional Muslim culture Nikaah blended with a modern and sophisticated outlook.
The two have a wedding tale that is hard to picture nowadays. Beautiful and happy-go-lucky Sophia met Sarfraz, the reserved and independent London-based gentleman only once before getting engaged to him in January, 2013. What is even more interesting is that during their courtship period of more than 20 months, they did not meet or talk to each other even once! YES, you can re-read it “NOT EVEN ONCE”. This was at the suggestion of their parents who insisted that this would keep the excitement and spark alive. Nevertheless, Sophia and Sarfraz had fallen for each other already and even without communicating they could feel each other’s heartbeat.
The Haldi ceremony of our bride took place on 17th October, 2014. Her attire complemented the Haldi theme. She wore a lovely yellow dress, completing and finishing the look with flower ornaments.
On 18th was the Mehendi Ceremony, called the Shukrana, at The Lalit Ashok. The Shukrana is mainly “ched chaad ki rasam”. It entailed a very interesting ritual wherein the groom had to rupture a giant “puri” which had a coin hidden inside it, with his hands. As Sarfraz frantically tried to find the coin, the saalis (Sophia’s sisters) took pleasure in hitting him with a floral stick. The exceedingly mesmerizing white dress that Sophia wore was a gift from her Husband’s side all the way from the UK.
The Nikaah happened on the 19th of October, 2014 at The Lalit Ashok. Sophia looked ever-so-pretty and charming in the red velvet lehenga gifted to her by her in-laws. Sarfraz very elegantly complimented his bride and the couple looked completely Made for Each Other.
The Reception was organized on 20th October at Le Meridien. Sophia’s peach and blue attire was from Shimmer, Bangalore. She carried the outfit really well with a lot of class and suave.
The lovely photos for all the wedding ceremonies were taken by Wedding Bellz by Sharmilla. This is what the bride has to say about Sharmilla, “She is great to work with and is like a family now. The photos are brilliant and lovely. We’re very happy with the work Sharmilla has done for our wedding.”
The photographer too had something to say about Sophia, “She is open to creativity and this is something I really like about her. She is a gorgeous woman, full of elegance, and very soft and kind.”
Every bride comes into the studio with a dream to look her best and Sophia was no exception. Sophia entrusted Gouri on making her look just that. Sophia’s splendid makeup for the wedding was done by Gouri Kapur for all the ceremonies.
“Gouri completely transforms the person with her makeup. She is extremely good and highly talented. I am very glad to have had her as my makeup artist of the wedding ceremonies.”- Says the lovely Sophia for her makeup artist, Gouri Kapur.
Gouri’s take on Sophia - “The moment I saw Sophia’s deep maroon ghagra, I instantly decided to choose an airbrushed foundation for her flawless second skin, corrective contouring and the eye-makeup to balance her deep maroon lipstick. Added lashes for extra glamour and we gave her a complete look with a bun so she stays comfortable throughout the evening.”
Team Shaadisaga congratulates and wishes Sophia & Sarfraz a very happily married life full of love, compassion, fun and laughter!
