Every girl grows up thinking about her wedding day and pays attention to the finest details. Her dress, her makeup, her jewelry, the venue, the food, the decorations, the music and the guests-she has thought about it all. It’s not just any girl who does it. You did it, I do it and probably all the other girls, just like you and me, do it too. With this piece I wish to help the girls, thinking about their weddings with great precision.
Gone are the times when wedding was just a ceremony where the uncles and aunts managed everything, now it’s something which is thought about in great detail. Gone are the days of a simple wedding. These days’ people are looking for an ‘X’ factor even in their weddings. Destination weddings and themed weddings are topping all the charts. Today, people want to make this auspicious day of their lives as special as humanly possible. These days, people don’t shy away from spending money; they just want this particular day to be the best day of their lives.
Also, it’s rightly said, ‘Ham ek baar jeete hain, ek baar marte hain, pyaar bhi ek baar karte aur shaadi bhi ek hi baar karte hain.’
Couples from all across the globe look towards the ‘Desert State of India’ when they think of a royal wedding affair. Be it Liz Hurley, an actress or Rishika Lulla, daughter of Kishore Lulla-Bollywood Producer, they chose Rajasthan for all its royalty. Right from the venue to the music everything has a royal ‘air’ to it.
Wedding theme One: ROYAL RAJASTHANI WEDDING
First thing which all your guests are going to see is the INVITATION, select the right invitation that fits your theme.
Picking the venue is the most important job and requires a lot of brainstorming as Rajasthan offers a wide variety. Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur , City Palace in Udaipur and Balsamand Lake are just few ‘names’. The list goes on. Pick according to your choice and pocket.
If the venue is one of those royal palaces then décor is already taken care of. To add to the royal ‘air’, decorating the palace with lots of lights and flowers would do the job.
It’s the attire of the bride and groom which is all royal. The Dulhan can wear a red ‘Rajputi Paushak’,as they call it, and the Dulha can wear a bandh-gala sherwani and churidaar.
Bride’s jewelry is the most important part of our ‘Royal Rajasthani’ wedding. A beautiful ‘rakhdi’ can be worn by the bride as the headgear, ‘bajubandh’ for her arms, kundan necklaces, kamarbandh for her waist and golden ‘payal’ for her feet.
The groom’s turban can be decorated with a ‘Kalangi’.
The women can wear the rajputi paushak and the men can wear bandh-gala coats and Jodhpuri Pants.
Rajasthan is famous for its food.
Rajasthani cuisine includes ‘Gatte ki sabzi’, ‘Aalu Matar ki sabzi’, ‘Laal Maas’, ‘Ghevar’, ‘Baalu Shahi’ etc. Rajasthani Thaali is famous all across the world.
Rajasthani ‘Dhol-Thaali’ can beat the world’s best DJ when it comes to the music. Dhol, Thaali and Ghoomar songs are what you’re looking for when it comes to a traditional and royal rajasthani wedding. Rajasthani Dance is any day better than those jazz and hip hop moves.
Royal Rajasthani Wedding Theme is both vintage and chic being the perfect choice for couples. We will be talking about more Wedding Themes this month.. Watch Out!!
