They say that it might take a year, or it might take a day, but what's meant to be will always find its way. When the coronavirus pandemic hit us all, we witnessed many regulations around larger gatherings being altered. And when our Prime Minister announced a nationwide lockdown from 25th March 2020, it was final that many weddings would be halted until further notice. Cue heartbreaks everywhere. However, many of our brides have never let themselves feel deterred or defeated in light of this situation.

Now, we've already witnessed the shotgun wedding of this couple that took place barely hours before the lockdown began. And now we're going take you down the story lane into the tale of a couple who held a virtual wedding. The wedding of Trishla and Mohit is an inspiring fun story with the bride applying Mehendi on herself and even friends joining in for a virtual sangeet celebration. Here are all the deets of this amazing wedding story!

Introducing Trishla & Mohit

Trishla and Mohit met through an arranged meeting by their parents. While the initial few minutes of their meeting were awkward, with Mohit being an introvert and Trishla being a semi-extrovert, things smoothed over when their conversation started.

"There was no looking back when we started talking. It was such a smooth flow of topics and conversations that we barely had any hiccup or awkward silence between us. We didn’t talk about clichéd hobbies or random small talk. Instead, we shared quirky experiences that our lives had subjected us to," Trishla revealed to us, as she recounted her first meeting with Mohit, "I had already met some 15-20 guys before Mohit (while I was the first girl for him), but it was meant to be him only!"

Engagement Ceremony

Upon reaching home, Trishla found herself inspecting the entire meeting with Mohit. Her heart was whispering 'Yes' to this introverted man, who initially wouldn't talk much. Not even a nerve in her body was telling her otherwise. Meeting Mohit felt like all the right stars had aligned and brought him into her life. Saying yes just felt right. "Our families had met and it was a happy nod from both sides. Finally, on 3rd December we celebrated our engagement, and he proposed to me in front of 150 people. I was flattered like anything; it was like a ‘dream come true’!

Trishla and Mohit had planned a fairytale wedding, which was to be held on 11th April 2020. However, the virus outbreak put the plans for their fairytale wedding on hold. Yet, Trishla decided that these days were meant to be celebrated as her own.

Mehendi Ceremony

With the thought of having a light-hearted, fun, and enjoyable celebration, Trishla held her own Mehendi and Sangeet with her family as a witness. For her Mehendi day, she applied Mehendi over her hands in an intricate and beautiful design that we are swooning over like anything. PS: Zoom-in to look her lotus motif mehendi that is AMAZING!

Sangeet Ceremony

"On the day of the sangeet, I choreographed a dance for Mohit and did a video call for the performance and his whole family watched me performing on the video call. They encouraged me and were so happy seeing me taking all this so beautifully, sans any qualms."

Trishla also prepared several dance performances that she performed in front of her in-laws!

To add the cherry to the merry celebration, Trishla's friends surprised her with a video call, "They too dressed up for me, to lighten my mood and make me feel special! Phew, FRIENDS are life."

Watching her fiancée, her friends, and her family supports her in this testing time was a true motivational factor for her.

Final Words From Trishla To All The Brides-To-Be

"I felt so motivated, I could have sulked but I chose to celebrate my days in quarantine. Even though it was not my real wedding, which will happen real soon, I felt full of zest even during these dull and gloomy quarantine days," Trishla tells us, as she shares this happy moment with us. And she adds on few encouraging words for all those going through this moment of uncertainty, "To all the brides out there whose marriages are postponed due to this, don’t dishearten yourself and celebrate your extended courtship and wedding days. Cheers!"
