Move over the classic buns for your wedding day as a very new hair trend especially for brides has popped up off lately.

We spotted real brides ditching the typical bun hairdo and opting for open hair for their wedding instead. Many of you would find it hard to believe that how can a bride not have a bun, but it's actually happening and we right here at ShaadiSaga are totally smitten!

Shruti Sharma, our favourite makeup artist, revealed that since brides these days are going for double dupattas and the lighter one goes on the head, hence, it's a great idea to keep your hair open.

What's wonderful about this trend is that it's pretty much for brides with any kind of hair type and length. Maybe except for anyone with really short hair, think brides with pixie and bob cut, they'll have to struggle a bit to get the look right. You can experiment with sleek straight hair, curly or wavy. Additionally, you can have a matha pathi or a maang tikka to complement those easy breezy loose locks.

If you don't want to keep your hair open, you can also have braids!

Bonus Tips From Shruti Sharma:

  • If you're opting for only a single dupatta and want to keep your hair open, make sure the fabric is light so that it stays on the head.
  • Open hair for brides on the wedding day is recommended only if you're having a day wedding because the event gets winded up in a few hours.
  • Not suggested if you have late pheras as you'll be getting ready in the evening, and maintaining the open hairdo till your pheras will be a task because of the weight of the jaimala. Go for a classic bun instead.

A slight boho-chic look and so much gorgeous. Share your thoughts with us on this trend in the comments below!
