We LOVE brides who know what they want, convention be damned. Which is why we fell in love with Hansika, a bride who made HER entry witha baraat, wore sneakers that lit up (!) with her wedding lehenga and got her wedding "sponsored"!
Intrigued? So were we!
For Hansika Chandiramani, the boss lady who runs a celebrity management company, the concept 'the bride who sold her wedding' began as a joke during her wedding planning phase. It's true that every girl dreams of having a fairytale wedding but it ends up costing an insane amount. As a result, Hansika decided to get Sponsors for her wedding. Some of them were surprised, some of them confused because a lot of them were curious to know more about the girl who was planning to sell her wedding! After all the efforts, 12 brands agreed to sponsor her wedding. [Find which wedding vendors became sponsors at the end of the post]
Hansika has always been open about renting outfits and for someone who never wants to be repeat an outfit, it's a super cool option! At the same time, thoughts such as, "what will society think if I rent my bridal outfit?" troubled her but being the kickass bride that she was, she decided to do what she wanted! She went ahead with and rented her mehendi, cocktail AND wedding attire from Flyrobe.
Her wedding invitation read, "Ladki ki Baraat" that left her wedding guests intrigued. She entered the venue in this funky auto and danced her way on dhol beats!
While all of us are in search of the perfect pair of heels to wear on the wedding, our bride Hansika wore silver sneakers underneath her pink lehenga. And the awesomeness doesn't end here—those sneakers had LED lights that lit up when she danced in her baraat!
The groom, Gaurav, got a wooden box made which, when opened, had Super Mario pop up and say, "Player 1 ready, will you be my Player 2?". That's one cute proposal idea! Guys, take note!
Silent and disco, yes, you heard it right! Hansika just gave cocktail nights a new trend. Functions before the weddings are the most fun ones as you get to drink like a fish and dance like crazy all night. Although, you get to dance all night only if your neighbours let you play music till wee hours. For those who want to have a stress-free night without dealing with neighbours, try the concept of Silent Disco! Everybody gets a pair of wireless headphones which plays music instead of giant speakers!
Hansika suggests, "Don’t fall into that thought process that it’s your wedding and there are going to be a lot of expenses made – don’t do that, be smart and use that money elsewhere, like we did – we bought a house. Go for a holiday, but don’t be pressurized and succumb to the fact that you need to be elaborate with your outfits and show the world that it’s your wedding day. I’ve seen people give up on their honeymoons to have that picture-perfect wedding, but at the end of the day, experiences matter over materialistic pleasures."
