Just as the rainbow peeks out from under storm clouds, a gay couple in Telangana has taken the Indian LGTBQI community by storm by holding a real, honest to goodness promising ceremony! India, only recently in 2018, revoked the draconian law that made homosexuality illegal under article 377 but it has a way to go before the constitution recognises and confers the same legality to homosexual couples that it gives to heterosexual pairings.

But Supriyo Chakraborty and Abhay Dange would not let a pesky little thing like that get in the way of true love. They have been together since 2012, having met on a dating app and decided that the time was now to declare to the world that their love is real and here to stay.

Amidst family and friends, Supriyo and Abhay held a promising ceremony – to have and hold each other for and always. It was a full-blown affair with sangeet, mehendi, and ring ceremony! It warms our hearts to see love accepted and celebrated in all forms. Family Comes Together

Family comes together to celebrate love in all forms and these two families were all in! Many Bengali families celebrate happy occasions with Anana Nadu; a homemade coconut sweet. His mother and family came together to prepare a batch of Joy for the festivities. Gushing with all this love and acceptance!

Mehendi & Sangeet

The families organised a mehendi ceremony and the happy couple got each other's name on their palms! Lovin' the idea!

The Bengali Wedding 

Both donned in a traditional Bengali headwear topor, Supriyo Chakraborty and Abhay Dange were looking adorable for their Bengali wedding. Dressed in pastel blue and pink sherwani the couple celebrated their D-day with their loved ones. 

Ring Ceremony

In front of family and friends, Supriyo and Abhay stood up and declared their love and commitment. The ceremony was officiated by their friend in the LGBTQI community, Sophia David. They both wrote personal vows, in doing so boldly declared their love and affection loud and proud! The couple donned stylish tuxedos for the ring and promising ceremony.
