Rupinder and Shaweta are both US-based doctors who were introduced to each other through an arranged marriage set up. Though both lived on the opposite ends of the country, their communication, which began via phone at first, went off quite smoothly. Soon, they were meeting and talking more often and then they decided to get married! Thus, #ShawetaFoundherButtarhalf. For their wedding, the couple decided to hold all the functions at Silver Palm Nuptial Knots Resorts, with full glam and fun with their loved ones present.
The engagement ceremony was a glorious event lined with an array of flowers in the entire venue. The bride, Shaweta wore a gorgeous lavender and grey outfit with pronounced lavender embroidery by Frontier Raas. Rupinder, on the other hand, wore a grey suit from Hugo Boss to complement his bride's ensemble. However, instead of choosing a lavender tie, he chose to spice his look with some light pink.
The haldi was a more home affair, with nearest of the family attending the haldi function. For this intimate event, Shaweta wore a gorgeous yellow suit with gota work along with contrasting red and white floral jewellery from Prune India.
The gorgeous Mehendi ceremony was another sight to see at this wedding. For her Mehendi ceremony, the bride wore a gorgeous golden yellow gown with heavy floral embroidery by designer label Nilibar. The groom, similarly, wore a kurta-pyjama and yellow Nehru jacket by Manyavar.
The couple held a Sangeet and Jago function combined at the Silver Palm Nuptial Knots Resorts in Punjab. For this, Shaweta dressed up in glittering pink sharara by Akriti By Ritika & Shakun with statement jewellery in the form of a large maangtikka and a pair of chaandbalis. Rupinder wore a kurta pyjama set with a matching off-white Nehru jacket from Manyavar along with a matching pugh.
The wedding was a grand affair held during the day hours at Silver Palm Nuptial Knots Resorts. Shaweta looked like a total dream in her stunning red Sabyasachi lehenga while Rupinder looked dapper in an off white achkan with golden embroidery along with a deep red stole that matched the colour of his bride's deep red lehenga. What completely made the bride's look stand out was the bridal jewellery she wore to which was a glistening combo of a grandiose gold neck choker, along with matching jhumkas, maangtikka, passa and minimal Nath.
Another special thing about the wedding was that the priest who conducted the ceremony is a Padma Shri awardee and Hazoori Ragi of Golden Temple, Amritsar, Bhai Nirmal Singh Ji Khalsa who is also a close family friend. He specifically flew down to conduct their Anand Karaj ceremony, which was an ideal and divine experience for not just the bride and groom but for everyone present there.
For the reception, the bride was dressed in a unique greenish-grey and golden yellow lehenga by Shyamal and Bhumika, a colour we have rarely seen brides slay! The groom wore a black Bandhgala by Gurdev Sons and matched the colour of his pugh with the yellow in Shaweta's lehenga.
