"Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same."- Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights.

Just a while before the world went into lockdown, Shalini and Rishi were able to host their dream wedding celebrations in Jaipur. And this wasn't just any kind of wedding, it was a destination wedding that oozed elegance and extravagance in the best way possible! From a self-designed gown to a captivating red bridal lehenga, Shalini's wedding trousseau included all things bright and beautiful, one that every girl dreams to own. Scroll down below to check out all the details from this gorgeous wedding affair that literally took our breaths away!

Introducing Shalini & Rishi's Grand Wedding Celebration in Jaipur

Talking about their beginnings, Shalini said, "As most of the best relationships go, Rishi and I were introduced through mutual friends. Rishi is from Los Angeles, California, while I’m from India. However, I used to travel to the U.S. all the time because of my work."

From their first date at a small Italian restaurant in Los Angeles to a full-blown romantic proposal at NYC's Central Park Bow Bridge, the couple's story can be traced and mapped at almost every major location in the U.S. along with a dream destination wedding in the Pinkcity of Royalty - Jaipur, Rajasthan.

"Our love story is the fairytale that every girl dreams of."

Welcome Dinner & Gazal Night

The wedding fun began with a royal welcome dinner for all the guests at the Amer Fort in Jaipur. A stunning and extravagant affair, the dinner night consisted of gazal performances, lots of music and booze. This was also the night when the bride got her mehendi applied to prep for her actual mehendi function the next day.

Mehendi Ceremony

The Mehendi ceremony was an affair of rainbow colours with vibrant elements covering the entire venue! The bride's outfit, a stunning periwinkle blue lehenga with bubblegum pink 3D embroidery by designer Papa Don't Preach by Shubhika, was a perfect blend of recreation of her Mehendi function's decor and vibe. The lehenga was paired with her waist-long curls, with a floral tiara and floral bangles along with pastel makeup. Matching her vibrance, the groom dressed up in a white kurta-pyjama with a periwinkle blue Nehru jacket, making the couple look like a spring pair- youthful, bright and cheerful till the very end of the function!

Groom's Haldi Ceremony

The groom's haldi took place after the Mehendi. A bright affair of yellows, the groom's haldi was an event full of fun, frolic and loads of haldi being applied generously onto the unsuspecting groom by his friends and family!

Cocktail Party

The cocktail party was a night to remember for the couple. Glittering from top to bottom, Shalini made heads turn in a spectacular silver gown, with embellishments adorning the front of the gown in silver. The best part about this gown wasn't just the gown's 8-meter long train, but the fact that the bride had designed this outfit from the scratch! Shalini paired this look with a chic updo with loose curls and bold smokey eyes, along with sparkling diamond choker and droplet earrings. Matching his bedazzled bride, Rishi opted to look dapper in a grey tuxedo along with chic loafers from Christian Louboutin

Bride's Haldi & Chooda Ceremony

With the cocktail night's hangover in the past, the couple proceeded to Shalini's haldi and chooda ceremony. For the haldi and chooda ceremony, the bride chose to keep her attire simple, with a bright golden yellow outfit and a simple updo. As all Haldis go, this one was another play of haldi, with the bride being generously applied with haldi by her friends and family, followed by being showered by flower petals!

The Royal Wedding

The wedding ceremony exuded radiance and elegance. For the wedding, Shalini wore a gorgeous red lehenga with intricate peacock motif embroidery by Rimple and Harpreet. In a time when most brides choose to use a pastel palette for their wedding lehengas, Shalini knew from the start that she wanted a red bridal lehenga because she wanted the look to be more on the traditional and royal.

Teamed with an elaborate jewellery set that consisted of an elegant choker and rani haar, a studded mathapatti, a maharani nath and two ginormous kangans, her entire bridal ensemble personified royalty, just like she had always hoped. And while Shalini glistened in her ensemble, Rishi chose to keep it classy in a sleek off white sherwani, along with a beige safa and minimal neck jewellery.

With sunset pheras, and a heartwarming jaimala ceremony, followed by a grand after-party, the couple spared no expense in making sure that their wedding would be an affair well remembered.
