Let's face it. We're all makeup junkies. And, we #ShaadiSagagirls are no exception either.
The moment we hear our favourite makeup label's dropped a new product, we scram to get our hands on it (or at least wait for plausible reviews that can convince us furthermore to buy them). Makeup is tricky territory, however. One swipe of the perfect concealer can fix everything or one bad lipstick can ruin the entire look. Honestly, we love playing with makeup. And, our love for makeup helps us further give you recommendations on what's a steal and what's a pass. So, after much swiping, swatching and testing out products long-term, our search for the best makeup products for brides has finally come to an end (at least, for now!)
Without further ado, here's a curated list of all the amazing makeup products loved by the #ShaadiSagaGirlSquad that is worth spending the cash on.
No makeup routine should ever begin without a good primer. It forms the base for your entire face. It basically turns your skin into a clean canvas, which can basically be transformed into a bridal goddess.
Muskaan Garg, our Data Analytics Executive, recommends the M.A.C Prep + Prime Fix +. "It's one of the best primers I've ever tried. I've used it for years now. It's not only hydrating but also perfectly holds the entire look together," says Muskaan Garg, who swears by this cult favourite, "My favourite part about this primer is that it also works as a setting spray. So you're basically getting two features in one, which simply amazes me."

Though not many brides (and brides-to-be) will think much about using a concealer, but we'd like to change your minds about them. Concealers are not only helpful for masking away dark circles, pigmentation or acne scars but is also a great way for brightening the areas that need it.
Our Social Media Intern, Saloni Mahajan, recommends the Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer, " Honestly, this was my first and last concealer. Once I started using this concealer, I never thought of making a change, because I loved it so much. The formula is very easy to blend, which is very helpful in covering up the dark circles and redness."
(Pro Tip: For hiding pigmentation or scars, use a concealer that matches your foundation. For brightening, you a shade lighter.)

From being the right shade to being the right fit for your skin type, foundation is another essential part of your makeup routine. Basically, there is no full-fledged bridal makeup without a foundation. However, it is very important to choose a foundation that goes with your skin type. If you have dry skin, then choose a hydrating or dewy foundation, but if you have an oily or combination of both, then go in for a matte foundation that work wonders for any occasion.
Kriti Pant, from our Business Development team, swears by the Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation, "For me, this is my holy grail. I don't think what I'd do without this foundation, because I've always struggled to find a foundation that fits my skin type and shade." Pant further adds to her review, "It works flawlessly on my skin and it is easy to blend and matches extremely well to my skin tone."
(Pro Tip: Find your right match by swatching the foundation on your cheek or jawbone. Do not try to match your foundation with your wrist's colour because sometimes it is very different from your real skin tone.)

Okay, we know what you're thinking! Powders can dry you out, or make you feel cakey. However, you need a powder to set your foundation and concealer in their spots. Otherwise, these products will crease on your skin, no matter how much they claim not to. There are many types of powders, but the basic two categories are: Pressed and Loose. Pressed powders are good if you're new to makeup and can be used to freshen up the makeup, whenever and wherever. Loose powders (or Baking powders), however, are good for setting and brightening your face while doing your makeup.
BUY NOW | MRP: Rs 2900
On the other hand, Rashmi Jayara, our Content Writer, suggests two from both categories: The M.A.C Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation and the Maybelline New York Fit me Loose Finishing Powder. According to her, "Both the powders are non-cakey and light on the skin. Once I am done applying my cream-based products, I bake with the Maybelline one if I have the time. But if I am in a hurry, then the M.A.C powder is just perfect for the right amount of setting. The shade range on the M.A.C one is a plus point."

Which makeup look is complete without a nice eyeshadow palette? None! A good eyeshadow palette for a bride should have the right balance of nudes, browns and golds. These are the basic colours you need to create a beautiful eye look and even when you're not looking to go very OTT on the eyes, you can just blend one dark brown with a light brown and your eyes will still slay.
Content Writer, Shivani Singh, recommends one of her favourites, the Makeup Revolution X Petra Eyeshadow Palette, "The colours are extremely pigmented in this palette," she says, "From pressed metals to mattes, your ger a vast number of colours in it at a reasonable price, which is great because you can create a number of looks with these colours."
