“Kehte hain agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho, to poori kainath use tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai”

Our couple made us believe in this line from Om Shanti Om. As we all are aware of how struggling the last two years were, the virus has interrupted so many plans. Sagarika Kapoor and Nikhil Mehndiratta are one of the couples who suffered because of the pandemic but managed to turn their intimate wedding into a memorable one.

The couple had planned their wedding for April 2021. But the second wave hit us all and resulted in the indefinite postponement. Their wedding in New Delhi was in full preparation but just a week before their wedding day, the lockdown was announced. But with proper planning and courage, they hosted their small scale wedding. Their wedding has come as an inspiration for all of the people who are planning to get married amid the pandemic. They made the shift from big Indian fat weddings to intimate ones look so easy. Let’s see how they managed to host such a beautiful wedding with covid restrictions which were styled by Meha Bhargava, Founder Styl.Inc

Introducing Sagarika Kapoor & Nikhil Mehndiratta

Engagement

For their engagement event, Sagarika Kapoor mesmerised the guests in a pre-draped wine red saree. Her designer outfit by Ridhima Bhasin had an intricate lace design in the blouse. The bride's engagement look was stunning. She kept her open with smokey eyes. Her jewellery was minimal. She wore a pearl neckpiece with a statement pendant. To complement her look, Nikhil chose to wear a Gujral Sons' double-breasted blazer. Nikhil Mehndiratta paired his monochrome suit with a wine red printed tie which matched Sagarika's outfit. Their engagement decor had a floral arch which was set near the couple seating area.

Mehendi Function

On her mehendi day, the bride wore Mahima Mahajan's printed Kaftaan. The outfit had mirror detailing on the border which added grace to the outfit. Sagarika Kapoor matched the outfit with contrasting floral jewellery. We can take some inspiration from her for our comfy Mehendi outfit. What made the Mehendi more special was the DIY decor. The Mehendi decor was done by them only. To create the perfect backdrop for the pictures, they chose Genda Phool. Isn't this the perfect idea for intimate pre-wedding functions at home

Wedding Day

The wedding was organised in the bride's farmhouse. With the small guest list, the wedding decor was kept minimal. Different kinds of flowers were incorporated into the decor to make the venue beautiful. Their wedding hashtag #SaNiSideUp is perfectly fitted for the backdrop. The bride wore Shyamal and Bhumika lehenga for D-say. Instead of a simple monochrome look, she went for the contrast. She matched her ivory skirt with an orange blouse. Our bride went for Kundan jewellery. Nikhil matched her outfit with the peach sherwani.

Final Words

In the end, it doesn't matter how many people came to your wedding as long as you have your partner with you. We all can take some notes on how not to lose courage and plan a pretty cute wedding even in these difficult times.
