As Tuesday morning transitioned into afternoon, we busily scrolled our Instagram feed to discover something new to share with you guys. When, BOOM! This happened.
Wedding fashion giant, and the man that totally revolutionalised the fashion industry, Sabyasachi Mukherjee is collaborating with street fashion brand H&M. Though the designer had hinted yesterday on something 'big' being announced through his Instagram, nobody could predict a collab of this scale was underway.
In his latest video, Sabyasachi announced his collaboration with the Swedish multinational clothing retail company stating, "I am Sabyasachi and I am very pleased to announce the Sabyasachi x H&M Collaboration, which is going to offer a very beautiful prêt line for a larger audience in India and worldwide."
The video hints at the designs we're going to see in the upcoming collection, with glimpses of printed shirts, sarees, blouses, skirts, pants and of course, the signature Sabyasachi belt. The inclusion of the saree is a first, considering H&M is a company that mainly focuses on western wear.
H&M is a company known for its latest collaborations with renowned fashion designers like Giambattista Valli, Johanna Ortiz, Balmain and Versace. And every time a collab has been announced, the internet populace with a keen eye on fashion has gone bonkers. This news is no different.
Brides, your dream of finally owning a Sabya outfit without spending a bucket load of money is very close to coming true. The collab of #sabyasachixhm will not only bring forward noteworthy clothes for brides and grooms but also give an opportunity to many bridesmaids and groomsmen to style themselves in statement worthy outfits.
Themed, 'Wanderlust', the Sabyasachi x H&M collaboration will offer a complete fashion wardrobe for both ladies and men, including accessories. It will feature eclectic, hand-crafted travel pieces which will add the "extra" bit to the wardrobe. The much-awaited collection will be a blend of modern and traditional patterns, bringing forward designer clothes at an affordable price.
The Sabyasachi x H&M Collection is slated to launch on 16th April 2020. It will be available on ground stores, as well as, the online store of H&M and Myntra.
