Seldom do we come across a wedding submission that not only has us hooked to the picturesque photo album but also the behind-the-scene story saga! As we went through Prakriti & Rohit’s wedding details, it felt like we were reading a Bollywood film script! A storyline that has a fair share of setbacks & joyous moments. But the difference being it was all for real!

You can imagine the high-octane drama that lead to the wedding with this one instance - the bride had a dreadful accident just two before her wedding where a beautician spilt steaming hot water on her face, burning one side of the face till the ear! Sounds unreal, right? But fret not, the bride did walk the aisle, looking ever-so-gorgeous, without even delaying the ceremony. But that’s not all. Their love story is equally captivating & is sure to warm your heart (as it did ours).

They started as best friends and only realised they were in love when Prakriti’s family suggested she meet a few prospective grooms. When Prakriti shared her family’s suggestion with her best friend Rohit, he went silent for a few seconds and simply said "You are not going to meet any boy; you are mine and you will stay with me." That one moment changed the dynamics of their relationship! A few years later, the couple decided to get married in a self-financed wedding which they planned within a month! The bride even took the charge to design the wedding invitations and some of her outfits! Sounds exhausting? Well, without any further ado, let’s show you how Prakriti & Rohit’s wedding celebrations unfolded in a jovial soiree, perfectly captured by Gitesh Gupta!

Introducing Prakriti & Rohit

Jovial Mehndi Celebrations

The wedding celebrations kicked off with the mehndi ceremony held at the 4 by Oyo, Zirakpur. It was a vivid affair boasting of colourful decorations and an under-pretty bridal mehndi seating. A turquoise drape adorned with a floral wreath and tassels served as the perfect backdrop as the bride got her hands laden with auspicious mehndi. The marigold accents at the banquet entry and on guest tables further upped the vibrant quotient.

Prakriti was clad in a bright blue embroidered suit with a contrasting orange dupatta for the ceremony. The groom, on the other hand, rocked a muted golden kurta set with a green Nehru jacket. PS: Don’t miss the adorable wedding hashtag mehndi that the groom got etched on his hand! MianMithu was the wedding hashtag as the bride’s nickname is Mithu and the groom’s surname is Mian!

Intimate Haldi & Chooda Ceremony

The couple had separate haldi ceremonies with their immediate friends and families. Prakriti opted for a vibrant orange suit to complement the zesty feels, whereas Rohit wore an ivory kurta set with a traditional Kullu cap.

The Endearing Wedding

Ditching the quintessential lehenga, Prakriti slipped into a very special saree for her wedding. Her mother’s 32-year-old wedding saree is she what she slipped into, for her pheras! And one look at her photos, you won’t believe the half side of her face got burnt with boiling water 2 days before. Prakriti let her inner designer take the charge as she revamped her mother’s wedding saree by adding a few laces. She completed her look with a self-designed embroidered floral veil bordered with laces of her choice. For the bridal baubles, she donned a mathapatti, traditional nath, heavy earrings, and a neck choker - all replete with contrasting emerald details. Rohit looked dapper in a navy blue bandhgala set which he teamed with a traditional red sehra.

The venue 4 by Oyo, Zirakpur turned out as the perfect choice for all the ceremonies as the groom’s mother is a paraplegic patient and hence the family needed a nearby, wheelchair-friendly venue. 4 by Oyo ticked off all the checkboxes. Te wedding ceremony culminated with a happy vidaai where no one shed tears.

How Prakriti Dealt With The Mishap?

After being busy with the wedding planning, the bride decided to visit a nearby parlour to get the much-needed skincare treatment. She wanted to get that bridal glow and look a little fresh, as the preparations had already exhausted her. However, the beautician accidentally spilt a jar full of steaming hot water on her face. Out of nervousness, she did not rush to take any immediate action and worsened the situation by putting on a damp cloth on her face. But the bride didn't lose her calm and instantly headed to a hospital, where the doctor gave her best-suited medication. When the whole incident was under control, the bridal makeup was the next concern. Will it hide the burn marks or worsen the skin? There were an array of questions, but the makeup artist did a flawless job and no traces of burns were visible on her face throughout the revelries.

All is well, that ends well! Truly.
