2021 is here people! And we're so ready for this year's wedding season to start already.

The past year's been nothing short of, well, crazy! So, our eagerness to leave it behind is much high. And with that, we also get to shed a few trends from last year. One in particular being the Pantone Shade of the Year 2020- Classic Blue. With every new year, comes a new Pantone Colour of the Year, and for 2021, Pantone has announced not one but TWO amazing colours to rule the year!

It's time to pull out your moodboards, brides and grooms, for 2021 is the year of PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray & PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating!

For over 20 years, the Pantone Color Institute has selected the "Color of the Year" – meant to be a symbol of the new year to come.  Just like us, Pantone knew that we needed not one but two colours to make this year brighter and more lively. Talking about the colours, the institute announced, "PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating, two independent colours that highlight how different elements come together to support one another, best express the mood for Pantone Color of the Year 2021."

With Ultimate Gray being a cool toned grey while Illuminating being a warm and light sunshine yellow, these two colours bring forth a message of happiness that is aspirational and gives us hope!

Honestly we're just as excited as you guys to incorporate these colours into weddings! After all, having these colours in your weddings is like having a sense of elegance with a hint of playfulness, which we think 2021 weddings definitely need. So, scroll down below and check out all the ways you can utilise these two shades to light up your weddings!

How To Include Ultimate Gray In Your Weddings

There are so many ways of including the Pantone shade Ultimate Gray in your weddings. While the old Victorian notion labels this colour as boring, or dull, we'd like to call it more cool and edgy. After all, gray is a colour which will add a nice touch of elegance to your weddings. And here's how you can use this beautiful colour in your weddings.

Wedding Fashion

Using Pantone Colour of the Year 2021- Ultimate Gray in wedding fashion is fairly easy. We've seen grey as part of so many bridal and groom ensembles that the length of inspiration is endless. From glittering grey lehengas to scintillating silk sarees, and even dapper sherwanis, the options are endless.

Wedding Decor

Wedding decor is something where grey isn't the first colour that pops up in our minds. However, for a more subtle, evening or night setting, grey makes for a wonderful choice. The colour's grace is undiscernable. And if you're looking for a pop of colour then you can always pair it with bright coral shades! It looks smooth and adds a much needed sophistication to a nice wedding evening, especially in terms of table decor.

How To Include Illuminating In Your Weddings

Next in line is the PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating, a fuzzy light sunshine yellow and the second colour of the year. Described as warm and optimistic, this is a colour that is bound to add the much needed hope to any wedding celebration. In fact, we've seen yellow play such a major role at Indian weddings, especially in Haldi decor, that it's hard to not add this one to your moodboards!

We don't often see brides embrace yellow as their attire colour. However, light yellow can make for such a great shade not only for sarees and suits but also for lehengas!

Wedding Decor

There's no shortage of yellow decor at Indian weddings. And it makes a great decor option for haldi and mehendi celebrations. So brides and grooms, if you're going for the age old and classic genda phool decor, then we suggest you pick the lighter shade this time!
