There's is something about the union of two people with opposite personalities. You'd be surprised to see how much they have in common even though they're completely different from each other. It's like witnessing love and joy in its purest form. Much like the wedding of Pallavi and Dishant a couple that came together thanks to fate (and a little meddling of their parents) and started their journey towards forever, hand in hand.
Of course, a romantic wedding deserved the penchant big fat Indian wedding vibe. The kind that spans two different cities and comes full circle after six, quirky, functions! The wedding was a grand affair full of fun, laughter and tons of ideas that we loved. From boho themed parties to grandiose mandaps created with over 8000 roses, their wedding comes with some stunning details that are worth screenshotting.
"Dishant & I met at a family picnic in Pench in 2015," recalls Pallavi, the bride, "After that, for almost a year, we were not in touch. Then, exactly one year later on my birthday, we met again! And from there our love story started." And so began the love story of two opposites. After dating for three years, the couple finally decided to settle down. And even though they were introduced to each other by their parents at the picnic, they considered their marriage to be more based on love than arranged and it was quite true.
"I always knew that Dishant and I would be man & wife one day but we never knew it would be such a joyous celebration. We started dating in February 2017 and got married in February 2020 after exactly three years," reveals the bride, "February was always an important month for us since then!" And even though they were polar opposites, with barely much in common in terms of habits or personalities, they fit right with each other like two adjacent pieces of a puzzle. "Dishant proposed to me within 30 days of us dating! It was a very special moment where he went down on his knees and asked me to marry him," Pallavi said, "At that moment I knew that we would grow old together." 😍
The couple had a pre wedding photoshoot in the wintery dreamland of Mussorie. While their main location being the ITC Welcome Savoy Hotel, they also had a few photographs from some of the most scenic locations of the illy region like Mall Road, Lal Tibba and Dhanaulti.
Since the couple was from Nagpur, the Roka ceremony took place in their city itself, amongst many of their friends and families. For her Roka, Pallavi customised her own outfit made in pure red colour. The outfit bid ode to all the monochrome red lehengas worn not just by starlet Priyanka Chopra but many other gorgeous brides from the past.
The couple had their Mehendi celebrations in Nagpur as well, with exquisite pastel decor by wedding decorators Shaadi Baraati. Pallavi's mehendi design was a unique pictorial layout of a wedding scene, with the bride and groom's representations etched on her slender hands along with her wedding hastag #PalPalDilKePaas. Pallavi was styled in a beautiful pastle green, mirror work, lehenga by Mahima Mahajan, with her hands and hair adorned by floral jewellery from Floral Art. With the beats of dhol dominating the evening, the couple and their loved ones had the time of their lives, dancing to their heart's content.
Next the wedding brigade moved ahead to Pune for the rest of the celebrations. Choosing the Corinthians Resort & Club, Pune as their ideal destination, the couple kicked off their wedding celebrations once again with a pre wedding Bohemian carnival. The entire event was organized and set up by Q Events & Weddings. For this particular breezy celebration, Pallavi was styled in a wonderful white dhoti and crop by Papa Don't Preach while Dishant wore an resemble of yellow shirt, white pants and a sky blue blazer by Telon. With margaritas in every hand the brunch was a hit with all the guests that attended!
The ring ceremony and a fabulous cocktail party took place after the Boho carnival. For this glamourous evening, Pallavi styled herself in a contemporary midnight blue lehenga by Gaurav Gupta while Dishant was dressed up looking dapper in a black tuxedo from SS Homme by Sarah & Sandeep. The evening was marked by music and dance, with performances by family members much to be remembered by everyone, even after the wedding festivities ended.
As Pallavi recalled to us, the wedding day was the result of 6 months over labour by her and the event management team, over 300 cups of coffee and no less than 5000 messages exchanged. The highlight of the wedding day's decor was the vidhi mandap which was an algamation of over 8000 roses! The couple had planned this day to the T, hoping it to be magnificent. And magnificent it was indeed. For her wedding day, Pallavi wore a gorgeous pastel pink lehenga by Shyamal Bhumika, which was encrusted with sequins and embroidered to perfection. The groom, Dishant, on the other hand, was dressed in a fabulous off-white sherwani from Kora by Nilesh Mitesh. Once the jaimala and pheras were over, the entire family gathered to light some lanterns and commemorate their wedding.
With the wedding nuptials complete, the newlyweds moved back to Nagpur for one last hurrah. The couple and their family gathered for a post wedding reception celebration in their native town with their friends and family. For her reception, the bride styled herself in a beautiful baby pink lehenga choli with amazing sequins work. For the same, the groom dressed up in a fine cut suit by Gaurav Gupta.
