Our Real Bride’s Sabyasachi Lehenga is Pastel Perfection for your Pheras!

Sanchita Kalra, 10 Jan 2017

When you think of a typical Punjabi wedding, two things come to mind - a bride in a red lehenga and pheras that take place post midnight. But Sonal Sachdev, a Punjabi kudi who tied the knot recently, had something else on her mind. She wanted to wear a modern colour and didn't like the idea of a night only wedding.

Being a modern bride, Sonal always knew what she precisely wanted for her wedding. All the details from the outfit, the location and the ceremonies - she knew it!

For the wedding location, Sonal had always loved the idea of having a wedding by the beach but not where she resides [Dubai]. After several visits to 5-7 cities in Thailand, her big-fat destination wedding took place at Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa in Hua Hin.

For her ceremonies, she had already made her mind that her jaimala and the entry on the wedding day would be a daytime affair.

For her outfit, Sonal always wanted to opt for an unconventional hued lehenga with a contemporary touch instead of the traditional red colour. When she visited New Delhi with her mother for wedding shopping, she witnessed Sabyasachi's Firdaus collection launch and then you can guess what happened! This beautiful pastel lehenga  paired with a crop top was shown to her and it was love at first sight!

The outfit and location truly justified every bit of her wedding theme, 'Pheras in Paradise'!

3 Important Lessons Learnt From The Wedding

#1 Delegate tasks as you can’t do everything yourself and you WILL feel quite overwhelmed.

#2 It’s alright to compromise on things you can’t have and only when you do it, you’ll realise the importance of it.

#3 You won’t get quality time to spend with each and every family or friend who attends, and that's perfectly normal.

Will you ditch the usual red and opt for pretty pastels? Tell us in the comments below!
