Nobel peace prize laureate Malala Yousafzai recently tied the knot with Asser Malik and we're all gushing happiness and love for the couple! The couple announced their union late on Tuesday where Malala revealed that they held a small ceremony in their Birmingham residence.

Introducing Malala & Asser's Intimate Wedding

Announcing their wedding, the 24-year-old female education activist from Pakistan said that she tied the knot with Asser Malik “to be partners for life”. Sharing pictures on her Instagram and Twitter, Malala wrote, "Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead."

Several prominent personalities including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Chelsea Clinton, Priyanka Chopra congratulated the Nobel laureate on her nikah.

Also congratulating the couple, their longtime friend and photographer of their functions, Malin Fezehai wrote this, "Together with the rest of the world, I began following Malala story nearly a decade ago, after her harrowing defence of women and girls' education and seeing her become the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner in history. Never in my wildest dreams did I think our paths would cross and I would be photographing her wedding. For the past 6 years, I've been working with the Malalafund, travelling across the world with the fund she established to expand her mission of girls' secondary education worldwide. So today, it is my absolute honor to be here in Birmingham, at an intimate gathering of family and friends, celebrating Malala and Asser's union."
