Having met as an arranged match, Malika and Akshay were quick to find love blossoming between them. The couple's wedding story seems like a fairytale, down to the last detail. From a romantic proposal overlooking the Eiffel Tower in Paris to recreating her mother's bridal look for her D-Day, Malika and Akshay's February wedding is not just grandiose but an elegant affair that creates inspiration. A Romantic Proposal In Paris

A Parisian proposal is a classic in both reel and real love stories. It is the epitome of all romantic gestures. And Akshay's proposal to Malika was one such, that made their beautiful moment a tear-jerker. Having flown to Paris for her birthday celebration, Akshay had asked Malika to accompany him to a dinner date. With a table booked at a gorgeous rooftop restaurant overlooking the Eiffel Tower, Akshay surprised Malika by getting down on his knee, with a ring between his hands. As the violinist played a melodious tune, Malika found the entirety of Paris drowning around her, when she realised what was happening there. Though she had tears in her eyes, his marriage proposal was one that she considered being the best birthday gift she could ever ask for. 

A Grand Engagement Party

The couple's engagement took place at the Trident Hotel, Gurgaon. With a and off white themed decor, along with added touches of green flora, the couple celebrated their engagement with their friends and family. For her engagement, Malika was dressed in a gorgeous crepe pink gown with feathers by Dolly J. She added glam to her look by a scintillating long veil, stunning dewy makeup and offbeat diamond jewellery that made her shine like a diamond. The night was one marked by the beats of dhols and endless dancing. 

Mehendi & Sangeet Ceremony

The Mehendi and Sangeet was a day time affair, with just close friends and family in attendance. With a more laidback vibe, the decor was painted with a vibrant mix of blue and white colours and breezy summer decor elements. Malika wore a beautiful watermelon pink lehenga choli, with multi-coloured diamond prints at the edges of her skirt that made this design by Sulaksha Monga unique. Plus, when you see the Mehendi pictures, you will see for yourself that both the bride and groom can bust a move.

The Wedding Day

Mallika's wedding look was a sight to behold! She wore a pastel green hued lehenga by Payal Keyal, and paired it up with a dark maroon velvet dupatta along with heavy kundan jewellery that made her look royal from every angle. The wedding outfit was a recreation and an ode to her mother's wedding ensemble. Matching her finesse was her groom, Akshay, in a dapper off white sherwani by Raghvendar Rathore. The wedding took place at the Amaara Farms, with a pink and white theme decor that was covered in flowers of all kinds.

Talking about her bridal lehenga Malika said, "my dream lehenga is pure zari work inspired by my mother’s wedding outfit and weighed 49 kilos and took 600 hours to build this from art to finished conception."
