While growing up, Karan Torani spent a lot of time with his grandmother and it was she who told him tales that are the essence of this designer’s brand today. In fact, the designer believes that it was his grandmother who shaped his aesthetic. Maybe that is why every time this designer launches a new collection, he not only gives us a stupendous collection but also tells us a story that fills us with utmost joy. With his latest collection, ‘Jhooley- Swinging Through Life’ Torani has narrated the story of sisterhood. How sisters can lean on each other, how they grew up pulling each other’s hair and stealing clothes but despite all that, there is no greater bond than one of the sisters. Heck, this new collection of Torani is so immaculate that forget falling in love with just the clothes but get ready to fall in love with the creative direction as well!

Karan Torani’s ‘Jhooley- Swinging Through Life’ Collection Is Surreal

With multiple locations picked for his new collection, Torani truly went all out with this one. He presented a plethora of outfits in this collection. In fact so many that we’ve hardly seen any designer introduce so many different designs together. But he didn’t bombard us with all the looks together. The designer instead revealed these silhouettes in 6 different sets which gave us ample time to look and fall in love with the entire collection.

In fact, Shweta Tripathi Sharma is the face of the collection and she is a perfect pick cuz every single look that she displayed, played the part!

The first part of the collection was shot in a lovely colourful meadow with just a charpai and absolutely no other prop. Shweta Tripathi and other models who were picked to narrate Torani’s story were decked up in these bright printed lehengas and sarees. Every piece had a different detail or element such as scallop borders, quirky prints, huge floral motifs and whatnot. The sarees too had scallop borders, floral embroidery, and chevron prints. The designer didn’t just focus on the outfits but one could see him work on the details as well. The models’ hair was adorned with tiny dream-catcher-like things and a small bouquet of red roses and some even wore those old-school glass bangles.

The second part of the collection was created in a field. This part literally had jhoolas and not those proper ones but the ones on which you must have sat back when you were a kid. For this part, Karan Torani dressed up Shweta Tripathi in this beautiful pink lehenga with unique prints of birds and flowers. For the other models, the designer picked suits and lehengas which consisted of several prints such as chevron and floral. Oh, and we absolutely love how exquisite the colour combinations are of this collection. I mean who would have thought that a bright pink and an even brighter green would go so well with each other!?

In the third part of Jhooley, Torani presented a lot of clothes that are so versatile and easy to carry that one can pick them for their intimate wedding functions and even for their bridal trousseau. This part consisted of primary colours such as blue and yellow. In some of the outfits, we even saw the designer play with a combination of blue and orange. From chevron to block prints to big floral prints, we saw quite a lot of work on these clothes. And, with a majestic background of a lake, this part of the collection was as majestic as it can get.

The fourth part of the collection was too shot in a meadow. This part is the most colorful one out of all the ones of this collection. We see a burst of prints and colors in the most perfect setting. In fact, we recommend you opt for these lehengas, shararas and sarees for your mehendi function!

The last part of the collection is the classic Torani collection with his trademark lehenga designs and colours. What we loved about this part of the collection was that the designer introduced lehengas in various colours, leaving it on us to make the choice. A must-have, this part of the collection will look breathtaking on your cocktail function or even on your wedding day!

In fact, these are neon colours that will help you make a statement. Prints too play a big role in this part. So, if you’re on the lookout for something which will help you make a statement then we recommend checking out Karan Torani’s immaculate new collection!
