Nothing makes us happier than to know that wedding bells are all set to ring for our favorite celebs! One of the most celebrated cricketers of our time, Harbhajan Singh is all set to tie the knot with long-time beau actress Geeta Basra on October 29 this year. While we already had a clue about everything that was cooking all these years between the two, it wasn’t until early October this year that they finally came clean about their relationship as well as a prospective wedding. So, let’s take a look at the deets of their fabulously big fat Punjabi wedding, shall we?
The wedding is set to take place in Phagwara, which is about 20 kilometers from Harbhajan’s hometown, Jalandhar. The guests will arrive a couple of days earlier, bookings for which are already done at a five-star resort, along with Taj Palace and ITC. Harbhajan’s friend and noted singer Mika Singh is ready to dole out some classic Bollywood Punjabi tunes at the ceremony.
This, is an interesting one. While Geeta’s wedding outfits have been designed by celebrated designer Archana Kocchar, it’s Harbhajan’s wedding outfit that is curated by one of India’s finest designers Raghavendra Rathore. Bhajji is all set to strut in a stylish purple Bikaneri style Achkan that has hints of silk brocades from Benares, along with handloom fabrics from all over the country. Raghavendra has curated six stylish outfits for the cricketer that he is all set to don for the various functions during the wedding. Geeta, on the other hand, is going to be dressing up in Ghagras for all major events, including the wedding, Sangeet, Mehendi, and the reception. Along with Babita Malkani, Archana Kocchar has created a gorgeous Ghagra in red and gold for the actress, that includes intricate embroidery and Zardozi work.
One of the most talked-about invitation cards of the industry, the duo’s stylish card is a total sight! Designed by The Entertainment Design & Co., the card looks absolutely chic and classy. Graced with golden hints over a svelte red backdrop, the front of the card features gorgeous red ribbon with the guests’ names inscribed on it. The invitation card is no less than a handy box that consists of separate leaflets in an off-white hue for the various functions. Our personal favorite is the gorgeous Cocktail party one, that totally screams Bollywood, looking at the bedazzling golden patterns over navy. The couple is set to throw a grand Bollywood style reception in Delhi on November 1, and so, we’re likely to see a horde of celebrities gracing the magnificent event.
Shaadisaga wishes this to be "Mr & Mrs" a very happy and joyous wedding ahead! Keep looking this space for their wedding pictures and story :)
