Gold Lehengas By Falguni Shane Peacock India

Gold Lehengas From The "Love Is" Collection

Titled, 'Love Is', the latest collection by Falguni & Shane Peacock is inspired by the monument of love- the Taj Mahal. The designers took the meaning behind relationships up to an entirely elevated, more meaningful notch.

The Agra-based UNESCO World Heritage site is woven into every handcrafted piece in the collection, not just in terms of architectural influences but also the crafting techniques used by a cluster of about 250 craftsmen from the FSP-adopted villages in West Bengal.

Talking about the collection, the designer duo reveals, "We have transcribed the innumerable motifs of the gem on the ensembles and varnished them with refined adornments of Swarovski crystals, pearls, mirrors, sequins and beads. The intricate crafting techniques replicate the structural marvel on the fabric via architectural motifs of domes and minarets, the filigree of foliage, and motifs of the century’s fauna and birds."

The pieces from this collection are gushing with old-world regalia. They're not a statement to just one particular taste, but they're transition pieces. Between tradition and modernity. Between the mid-pandemic minimalism and the maximalism, we yearn for when it comes to celebrations in the future. It continues to push the envelope with sleek-cut blouses, statement sleeves and corset-like detailing—a Falguni Shane Peacock calling card.
