It's not every day you get to witness an engagement ceremony with a bride who not only woos you with her ethereal beauty but also with her killer dancing moves. And this one just dropped in our mailbox, making us go all smiles!
Beautifully captured by the skilled team of Sam & Ekta, this gardenia themed engagement of the lovely couple, Smiti & Nilesh has everything to root for. Be it the elemental decorations festooning the lush environs of The Leela, Goa, the color-coordinated couple exchanging the jaimalas on the day of their engagement or the oh-so-cute flower shower entry of the couple, every single detail from this engagement ceremony is worth going gaga over. However, what has kept us majorly tucked to their union are the back-to-back dance performances of the bride with her girl tribe that are phenomenal beyond words. Right from the choice of songs, the synchronized moves to the ever-gleaming faces, we found everything on point and so would you!
So, without any further delay, let's take you straight into their heart-melting celebrations and show what they've got in store for you!
The beauteous decorations curated by the ace team of DRQ Hospitality by Qammar Haqim lent this beautiful ceremony a refreshing and elegant touch. We loved how they painted everything in hues of white and green giving the plush property of The Leela, Goa an enchanting garden-like feel. While the entrance was beautified with draped wooden arches and some greens, the walkway was all laid with blossoming petals & pillar candles. The stage was also gorgeously done with a floral wreath installation in the center, a lush green backdrop and some tall vases.
As Smiti and Nilesh entered hand-in-hand to the venue, they were poured upon with heaps of love and buckets full of flower petals by the bride's favorite bunch of ladies. And all we could do was gush over their expressions! They were priceless.
Matching with the opulence of their engagement ceremony, Smiti & Nilesh dressed up in mesmerizing color-coordinated outfits for the day and left us all floored with their sartorial choices.
Smiti picked a yummy blush pink gota patti lehenga from Anita Dongre and paired it up with a stunning emerald necklace and chandbaali earrings, making up for a beautiful bride. She further fashioned her look with dewy makeup, fluttery lashes, nude lips and a neat bridal bun which was given to her by her makeup artist Gayatri Sharma and hairstylist Shabaz Khan. Nilesh, on the other hand, complemented her just well in his blush pink bandhgala which he teamed with a pair of ivory pants and ivory footwear.
Yet another highlight from Smiti & Nilesh's engagement ceremony was their heart-melting rituals. We were totally stunned to see that the couple not only exchanged their wedding bands on their engagement ceremony but also those pious jaimala threads. Now that's something new!
And here comes the showstopper! For us, the most ogle-worthy part of their function was the bride and her tribe's power-packed performances. With their choice of songs, groovy moves, choreographed steps & mischievous expressions, Smiti and her darling BFFs literally got our hearts fluttering on repeat. If you too wish to get mesmerized, directly jump into their dance performance video that we've shared below!
And here are a few pictures!
And while this was all we loved from their engagement ceremony, their wedding proposal was no less than a dreamy affair and this video is proof!
The bride shares,
In December we both had plans to go to our respective homes to spend Christmas and New Years with our families. My parents had told me that we were going on a short holiday to resort near KL for a few days for Christmas. When I got there my mum and brother said there was a Christmas Eve gala dinner on the beach we had to dress up for, all this while I had been chatting to Nilesh who was sending me pictures and videos of him in Spain back home with his friends. My brother and I were walking to the beach area for dinner when suddenly I see Nilesh standing there under the most beautiful cabana just as the sun was setting! It was the most surreal and overwhelming moment of my life as he asked me to marry him! The total surprise of him being on a beach in Malaysia and having planned all this with my parents for months in advance was the most thoughtful way he could have ever done it.
There was months of sneaking around on his part involved, he even posted fake IG stories to convince me he was in fact in Spain so I could have never seen it coming! He also wrote a beautiful letter to my parents with two promise rings before he proposed which they showed me afterwards. Every part of it was so beautifully thought out and I think nothing can be as special as that!
