Yes, we said it, and our super-talented brides have been doing it for quite a while. Put on your creativity hat and create the outfit of your dreams. Meanwhile, here is some inspiration:

Brides Who Designed Their Own Outfits

1. Bride Medha’s Kashmiri Themed Lehenga For Mehendi Ceremony

Medha, a designer by profession, created the most whimsical lehenga for her mehendi ceremony. The uber-talented bride took inspiration from her ancestral roots and forged a Kashmir-themed lehenga. The ensemble had everything from the calm waters to breathtaking landscapes and the quintessential Shikaras embroidered with Resham threads on it. Take a look at her breathtaking creation.

She opted for a pastel coral silk base and let the colourful embroideries pop on it. A contrasting sea-green dupatta completed the look. We’re absolutely head over heels in love with the intricate threadwork done all over the lehenga. No wonder it took more than 1100 hours to be made.

2. Bride Priyanka’s Hand-painted Lehenga

Do you enjoy painting and are pretty good at it? So, why not put'em brushing strokes to use and create a heart-warming outfit for your wedding revelries? Takes cues from the bride Priyanka who painted a floral lehenga for her mehendi ceremony.

Priyanka picked a powder blue fabric as the base for her lehenga and beautified it with colourful floral-inspired strokes. The result was FAB, to say the least!

3. Bride Srishti’s Sabyasachi-Inspired Lehenga

Meet the bride Srishti who doesn’t have any background in designing but created a rather impressive lehenga with bandhani touches for her mehendi ceremony. The trending lime-green Sabyasachi lehenga was her inspiration. She direly wanted the designer ensemble but couldn’t afford it. So she sourced matching fabric and laces from various markets in Delhi and DIY-ed her mehendi outfit. WOW is the word! Take a look at her pictures:

4. Bride Who Created Herself an Electrifying Mehendi Look & A Pastel Wedding Lehenga

Founder of her eponymous label, bride Pratishtha created a head-turning electrifying blue outfit for her mehendi ceremony. Right from the colour to the silhouette, she left us amazed with her unconventional choices.

For her Pastel-themed Anand Karaj, Pratishtha personified elegance in a subtle lavender self-designed lehenga. One look at her creations, you are sure to be smitten!

5. The Multi-Panelled Lehenga For Mehendi

Bride Deepam designed a vibrant multi-panelled brocade lehenga for the mehendi ceremony. The blend of green, mustard, orange, ivory and red turned out really well. A tulle ivory dupatta with delicate golden accents completed the look.

6. Stylist Bride’s Ethereal Lehenga In Unique Hue

When a bride is a stylist by profession, she obviously knows how exactly she wants her bridal outfit to look like. Taking the matter into her own hands, Prajakta designed a rich all-gold lehenga for the D-day! And oh boy, she nailed it! Her photos went viral and the deep shade of gold became an instant hit among other brides.

7. Bride Tunisha’s Self-Designed Pastel Lehenga For The Pheras

While Tunisha wore designer creations for most of her wedding revelries in Thailand, she self-designed her lehenga for the D-day to add a personal touch. She created a pastel lehenga with symbolic motifs like lotuses, elephants, peacock feathers and chandeliers spread beautifully all over. An embellished golden blouse and light pink double dupattas rounded off the look.

8. Head-turning Wedding Outfits Designed By Bride Saumya

From a millennial yellow lehenga with a modish ruffled dupatta to a silk saree drenched in traditional aesthetics, Saumya added some insanely beautiful self-designed outfits to her wedding trousseau. She created a bright yellow lehenga with floral embroideries and a floral bustier for the mehndi. A flowy ruffled dupatta further upped the voguish charm to her look.

As for a wedding pooja, the diva slipped into a parrot green and magenta saree. Again, a self-designed creation! She draped the popping-hued saree like a lehenga (also known as saree lehenga), and her photos continue to inspire many brides today.

9. Bride Netashi's Timeless Banarasi Wedding Lehenga

More than 2 years before her wedding, Netashi entered a loom store in Banaras during her visit to the holy city. She was lured into buying a lot of fabric with absolutely no intention of turning it into her wedding lehenga. Even the wedding was nowhere in the scene. Cut to 2 years later, she actually revisited the fabric she had bought and designed it into her wedding lehenga. She flew to Banaras once again to find the perfectly matching dupatta to go with the outfit. The result was a striking colour-block Banarasi lehenga boasting a timeless appeal.
