Anyone who’s married or is about to get married would agree how tedious of a task wedding planning is. It involves months of rigorous hunting & preparations, at times even until the last minute. But when we got to know that this grand Baku wedding was planned by the visionary crew of Chapter 2 Events and Meha Bhargava of Styl. Inc. in just ONE month, it was hard for us to believe and not feature it on our blog.

Hosted at the picturesque Dreamland Golf Club, in the heart of Baku, Prateek & Eesha’s wedding was the perfect amalgamation of colours, joy and happiness. Celebrated with enough grandeur & panache like a typical Punjabi wedding with an Azeri Tadka, theirs was a union that left us agape throughout. Whether it was their chilled-out mehndi that saw the bride & groom dancing in the pool, the wedding that witnessed the groom entering on a white hummer or the glitzy reception that had fun games & Azeri dancers to keep the guests entertained, every ceremony had something unique to offer. Taking it all a notch higher were the surreal decorations by Wedding by SS as well as the bride & groom’s breathtaking looks styled by Meha Bhargava of Styl.Inc.

Eesha & Prateek's Fun-filled Wedding Ceremonies in Baku

Flamboyant Mehndi

An outdoor Mehndi hosted by the poolside, overlooking the majestic Caspian Sea marked the beginning of Eesha & Prateek's wedding celebrations. It was a joyous affair with the plush property of Fairmont Flame Towers, Baku, trimmed in shades of pink. The decorations for the day were kept minimal with whimsical floral arrangements and canopies adding all the charm to the event. The couple was throughout seen having the best time of their lives getting all playful and dancing their hearts out in the pool with their friends and family members.

Swearing by the effervescent feels of the poolside ceremony, Eesha slipped into a phenomenal royal blue lehenga bedecked with beauteous floral motifs. She accessorized her ensemble with the ever-so-classic white & yellow floral jewels and rounded off her look with flushed cheeks, red lips and a hint of glitter outlining her black eyeliner. Prateek too made for an uber cool groom and wore a soothing mint green kurta on the Mehndi. He paired it up with a printed Nehru jacket and let his simplistic look do all the talking.

The 'Middle East meets Mediterranean' themed Sangeet

The Azerbaijan culture was what inspired this ceremony which was a mix of 'Middle East meets Mediterranean'. Fancy elements like golden-lit arches, domes & floral settings were all beautifully incorporated into the glam Sangeet night. And that’s not all! The skilled crew of Wedding by SS even took inspiration from the starry-eyed night and drenched the interiors of the venue in hues of pink & indigo. Dhol Nagadas and a myriad of choreographed performances by the bride  & groom along with their tribes further lit up the event.

Just like the decorations and the theme for the Sangeet night, Eesha & Prateek’s outfits too were on point. While Prateek opted for a textured Navy blue tux with a basic white shirt, a black bow tie and a pair of black shoes, Eesha, on the other hand, chose for a simple yet ethnic look. She bedecked herself in a pink & gold Banarsi lehenga and teamed it up with a bunch of chunky bangles and some gold jewels. Half-tied hair, cinnamon lips & rosy cheeks finished off her look.

The Outdoor Wedding

Set against the lush greens & azure skies, the gorgeous nuptials of Eesha & Prateek were hosted at the Dreamland Golf Club, Baku. While the scenic beauty of the venue lent a magical touch to their union, it was the beautiful decorations that proved to be the best canvas to their wedding. Right from the gorgeously draped mandap, the beguiling chair decorations to the rustic entrance setup, every little and big detail was a sight to behold. However, our favorite part from the wedding was definitely their stellar entries.

Making for a debonair groom in an embroidered ivory sherwani paired up with a pink shawl and printed safa, Prateek arrived on a white hummer with his siblings. He entered the venue with his squad dancing to the beats of Indian Dholwalas and Azeri drummers. Eesha, on the other hand, arrived in a golf cart, looking her stylish best. She wore a classic red Anita Dongre lehenga with double dupattas, one pinned on her head and the other draped diagonally across her lehenga. Styling her attire with just the right kind of baubles, she picked layered rani haar with a matching princess necklace, a broad matha patti and a sleek nath. For the final touches, she opted for a centre-parted bun, gold lids, sharp winged eyeliner and taupe lips.

A typical Azeri Style After-Party

Right after the blissful wedlock, the couple dived into the party mode and threw a glam reception bash filled with so many surprise elements. A lot of fun games & performances by Azeri dancers and singers were planned for the guests to keep them entertained during the dinner service. A musical band from Kazakhstan was specially called on board to add the much-needed Kazakh touch to the celebrations.

A sit-down dinner was set up for the guests with a menu that resembled that of royals. The expert team of Indian Chefs from the famed Pullman Hotel, New Delhi took care of the Indian gastronomy throughout the wedding and made it one delectable experience for one and all present.

Yet another highlight from their grand reception were the captivating decorations that constituted of lit candles hanging from the ceilings, attractive floral decorations and amazing crystal & cutlery decking up the tables. There was a huge floral chandelier hanging right above the printed dance floor that took the ambience of the reception to a whole new level.

Nuptials in Delhi

Lavish Engagement

The perfect kickstarter to Eesha and Prateek's union was an Autumn-Winter themed Engagement which happened way back in February at Amanta Farms, New Delhi. The color palette for the event was a mix of reds and blueberries accompanied by champagne drapes, crystalized chandeliers and ornate candelabras. Every nook and corner of the venue was beautifully decorated. While the entry passage was amped up with flowy drapes, chandeliers, flowers and sequinned strings, the front lawn of the venue had a huge marquee monogram of the couple's wedding hashtag #PrateekGetsBugged put up in a corner.

For the engagement ceremony, Eesha picked up a stunning coral pink lehenga from Mrunalini Rao and teamed her look with a glimmering diamond necklace, a simple maang tikka and matching earrings. Adding more charm to her look, makeup artist Shikha Sharma gave her a glowy base with plum smokey eyes and nude pink lips. Prateek whereas slipped into a navy blue bandhgala with a basic kurta-pajama set and looked all sharp & crisp.

The Soul-stirring Anand Karaj

Eesha and Prateek's Anand Karaj wedding was one of the most calming events from their big fat Indian wedding celebrations. It was a private affair with only close friends and family members of the bride and groom in attendance. The decorations for the ceremony were done in hues of pink and white. Ornate frames, fresh pink blooms, lush greens and impressive chair decorations were some of the key decor elements. All in all, it was an ultimate blend of all things pretty.

Clad in mint green & pink gota patti lehenga, Eesha looked breathtakingly beautiful as a bride. She accessorized her pastel-hued ensemble with an enameled choker, heavy danglers and an elaborate maang tikka. Pulling her hair into a side-parted bun with mauve lips, smokey eyes and fluttery lashes, she completed her look. Complementing his lady love just well, Prateek donned a cream-colored Kurta-pyjama with a printed bandhgala and pink turban.

An Enchanted Forest-Themed Reception

Saving the best for the last, Eesha and Prateek hosted an extravagant forest-themed reception at Mor Bagh, Chhatarpur, Delhi. It was a beguiling setup which looked straight out from the film 'Alice in Wonderland'. There were so many ogle-worthy elements added to the function. Be it the table settings, the sitting lounges or dance floor, everything was kept elegant with a tad bit of rustic touch. The lush greens were smartly infused with a pop of blacks, golds and whites into the warm & cozy environs of the venue. However, what gave us more reasons to stay glued to their reception photographs were the bride and groom's sartorial choices.

Dazzling in her bronze lehenga from Vani Vats, Eesha made for a pure diva on her reception ceremony. We love how she kept her look all natural yet attractive and fashioned her sparkling outfit with an elegant emerald choker. Matching up with her attire, she donned bold red lips, voluminous lashes, flushed cheeks and let her natural waves do the rest talking. Prateek too looked all dapper as a groom in his black mandarin collar suit.

How They Met

Eesha & Prateek's love story began at an office party, soon followed by a flirtatious banter exchanged over a few mugs of whiskeys. The two bonded over their mutual love for travel, food & drinking and the rest is history. A few business trips to India got them even closer, finally resulting in Prateek going down his knee to propose Eesha in the middle of a desert in Dubai.
