Weddings are a proof that there is goodness, love, and laughter in the world. And love stories like Ashka and Paarth’s are a proof that there is magic in real.
We at ShaadiSaga believe in this magic and are certain that every love story is unique and full of twist & turns. When we heard the exciting story of Ashka and Paarth that bloomed into a true fairy-tale wedding, we had to share it with you!
Ashka shared ‘Paarth earned his Masters in Real Estate Development from NYU and joined his family business to handle design & planning. We have known each other for a very long time, in fact, we have grown together. He is patient, understanding, and extremely caring! From taking me out to dinners, to making a midnight snack & going to watch movies, he keeps the fire burning. I feel so lucky to have him’.
(Laughs), Well, it was a dream proposal, and the most amazing moment we have shared together (until the wedding, of course!). The proposal was in Las Vegas, in front of the Bellagio fountain on November 10th 2014. He hired a flashmob, coordinated with them over the phone and, even, practiced using videos they sent! He made sure to have both our families around for it. We tied the knot a year later in Udaipur.
The wedding was a 10-day affair. The sequence of events was as follows. Haldi- The dress-code was Yellow! Mata Ki Chowki- We commenced our wedding festivities by calling upon all the gods to bless us. Mehendi- The theme was Ram Leela. With a touch of red and gold, we held prop firearms and danced away until dawn! Here we insisted on a traditional Gujarati/Rajasthani dress-code with glittery Ghaghras and Bandhni Safaas. Firangi Fiesta- This was an informal carnival to enjoy exotic dances like Salsa and Bachata. We even had many carnival games. Drinks served in fruit hollows were such a highlight! Sangeet Soiree- This event was all about enjoying the City palace. The theme here was a Fairytale affair and our guests were dressed in an Indo-western attire. We danced to the tunes of Sonu Nigam and his team. The Wedding- Our wedding was on the beautiful island palace of Jag Mandir. Paarth’s groomsmen carried him to the Jetty, and he brought his Baraat on a boat! The theme was Royal Rajasthan. Reception- Following the wedding, we had a sit-down reception with family dances, videos and speeches. The theme here was a Winter Wedding.
Ashka about the photographer Kartik from Dream Diaries. Kartik and his team, were truly amazing. Before the wedding, they sat with us to understand our chemistry and our backstory. That put our minds at ease. It felt good to work with a team who is willing to dedicate time and effort to understand you. They were so enthusiastic about everything! When we see early morning or late night shots in the video or photos, we see their dedication. The same-day-edit they produced right after our wedding was the highlight. Our guests are still puzzled how the team put it all together in such a short time. They caught such beautiful shots amidst the chaos of an Indian wedding! Hats off to both the video and photo team of Dream Diaries.
We loved Paarth's creative idea of coming on a boat, otherwise we have majorly seen Brides something different!
Ashka about her Wedding Planners, F5 Weddings We signed F5 Weddings early on. Towards the end of the planning period, we met more than a couple of times a week. Our wedding team was always enthusiastic and came up with so many great ideas for the wedding. It is the little things that make the biggest difference. We had a wedding counter at the airport. They managed airport arrivals to travel to personalized check in counters to even turn-down the services at night. They customized every bit of our wedding. We even had personalized seat covers on our Charter plane! Apart from such details, they suggested the coolest entries and carried them out just perfectly! Our Ram Leela themed Mehendi entry was in an open-air auto rickshaw, where we stayed true to the hues of red, black, and gold with our guests firing prop guns to the tunes of Bhai-Bhai (From the movie Ram Leela). Our entry for the Sangeet had the whole place lit up with fireworks and cold pyros.
My outfits were styled by Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra, Gaurav Gupta, and Shantanu & Nikhil. All the design houses were accommodating in terms of color palettes and designing! The groom was in designs by Manish Malhotra, Shyamal&Bumika, StudioHimmat Photography: Dream Diaries Wedding Planning: F5 Weddings Shaadisaga wishes this super creative and adorable couple a lifetime of love and laughs!
