This is the fourth post in the series on Purva & Shivam’s Real Wedding.

Purva & Shivam’s Jaipur wedding is what bridal dreams are made of. We loved everything about their celebrations, from the Glam Camp bridal shower to the fabulous Cocktail-cum-Youngster’s Party and basically every single thing about the whole freakin’ wedding!

As promised, here are all the Kitschy details of the sunny Mehendi afternoon. Take out your notebooks, you’re going to want to steal some ideas!

A Fresh Take on Everyone’s Favourite Mehendi Theme

The theme of the Mehendi was everything kitschy, so think bright, loud colours exploding at every corner through the use of pom poms, tassels and origami.

The Decor Is In The Details

The decor included pom poms in table centrepieces…

And pom poms on sticks creating a walkway in the middle of the Mehendi

The main canopy had a funky blue tassels backdrop (so unique!)

And origami birds were strung up throughout the venue

We loved this photo booth backdrop of simple strings of flowers, with a splattering of pom poms at the edges and a floral hashtag display!

Giveaways That Guests Are Guaranteed To Love

These were incredibly cute! Pocket squares for the boys in a brown envelope, and a pair of tassel earrings with bracelets for the girls in embroidery hoops

Brownie points for managing to add their wedding hashtag on these, too!

DO NOT miss how they displayed the giveaways! Hanging on wooden planks with colourful pom-pom strings framing the display on top <3

What’s A Wedding Without The Food? *Yum Alert*

And the food, man oh man, the food ideas were pretty awesome too.

They had:

  • A Tapas Bar
  • A pav station (with vada pav, pav bhaji)
  • Chana station, that included Amritsari chhole kulche!
  • Tadka Maggi counter!!!
  • Puri station (all types of puris - methi, mattar, plain with aloo sabzi)
  • Banta counter, with spicy guava & orange flavours!

Choosing Outfit Colours To Contrast With Decor *Tip Alert*

The bride chose her jewellery first, and then picked out the yellow lehenga that matched it perfectly. They actually chose the colours to ensure that her outfit did not blend in with the decor (a mistake so many couples make!)

The bride’s bright yellow contrasted beautifully with the decor, and we would’ve never imagined how someone could take a theme and weave it through every element of the decor so seamlessly. #PSWeDo wedding has given us SO many ideas, we’ll be counting them till the end of the year!
