When Pragya got down on one knee in front of the Duomo in Milan and held a ring out to Aditya, she broke the conventional way of approaching the marriage subject. And it was breathtaking!

We've heard of a million stories about couples who've proposed to each other in unconventional ways. Sometimes it's when they're mid-air, skydiving or in a hot air balloon, sometimes they're underwater and sometimes, their roles are reversed. Similar is the story of Aditya and Pragya - a fabulously glamourous couple that chose the more atypical path towards their proposal and wedding. From a flamboyant cocktail party to a very thrilling wedding celebration in total, the couple spared no expense in their wedding functions. Scroll down below to check out their charismatically appealing wedding!

Introducing Aditya and Pragya's Glam Wedding in Mumbai

Aditya and Pragya first met each other in college while pursuing Industrial Engineering. While Aditya was from Mumbai, Pragya came from a flourishing life in Kolkata. Good friends at first, the couple originally lived across each other during college, which ended up in them spending a lot of time together. The friendship soon turned into a loving relationship which then evolved into a slightly long-distance relationship when Aditya moved to Boston and Pragya moved to New York for work.

However, the long-distance relationship was not the only thing that set them apart, yet made them part of a certain demographic of couples. It was the proposal of marriage that truly won us over.

Ditching the age-old stereotypes, she followed her heart's desire and planned a proposal for Aditya. Right in front of the iconic Duomo in Milan, Pragya asked for Aditya's hand in marriage, to which he said yes. After Pragya's first move, Aditya one-upped her by putting together two spectacular proposals- one in Mumbai and the next in Ludhiana. The couple finally held their wedding celebrations in Mumbai which was a mix of love, laughter, dance and firecrackers!

Cocktail Party on Valentine's Day

The soon-to-be-married duo held a pre-wedding cocktail party on Valentine's Day to celebrate their engagement news. Since the couple is New York-based and their love story flourished in the same city, the cocktail was themed around 'Once Upon A Time In NY'. Essentially full of special elements that represent the city best- like Central Park and the NY Skyline. Pragya's friend's surprised her by a special performance on the FRIENDS theme song which truly set a statement in itself for the event. The cocktail's cousin was inspired by their favourite eating hubs in New York and the dress code was 'New York Chic' which meant that everyone had to abide by it and put their best foot forward.

For the cocktail party, Pragya dressed up in a chic high low dress in pink florals by Gauri & Nainika while Aditya picked out an amazingly stylish and chic suit by Anamika Khanna.

Intimate Mehendi Ceremony

The Mehendi ceremony was a much more intimate affair, which took place the next day of the cocktail. The theme was 'Bandhani' which involved heavy use of the print along with vibrant colours and genda-phool festooned across the venue. Pragya was dressed in a gorgeous red ensemble by Anamika Khanna accompanied by dainty jewellery, open hair and light makeup. Her mehendi design was minimal and dotted with peacock motifs.

Grand Musical Sangeet Night

The grand and musical sangeet was themed 'The Great 90s Show'. Being 90's kids themselves, the couple lined their sangeet with performances on songs from the 90s and early 2000s along with reenacting a few popular Bollywood acts. The unique things were that instead of having a host to compare the event, they played introductory video before every performance that they had shot a week before. The entire venue's decor was a mix of grand chandeliers, lots of greens, pastel flowers and bright lights. Matching this Insta-worthy decor was a bar studded with the couple's favourite phrases and memories.

Entertainment was at its peak with Guru Randhawa performing some of his all-time-favourite hits. Plus, shining the brightest were the bride and groom who wore similarly patterned outfits from Anamika Khanna.

Wedding Day - 'A Tale Of Two Cities'

The wedding took place in the presence of a grand crowd which was a mix of friends, family, VIPs and even celebrities. The theme of the wedding was 'A Tale Of Two Cities' which reflected on the couple's core cultures from their native places of Gujarat and Rajasthan. The bride was dressed in a beautiful aubergine lehenga by Anamika Khanna paired with purple and gold jewellery. In contrast to her purple shades, Aditya wore a stunning white and beige sherwani by the same bridal designer along with a gold safa.

To begin the whole function, Aditya made a grand entry along with his baraat in his vintage green Bentley, while the DJ's music had the groom squad shaking a leg as they walked into the venue. The decor was prominent shades of pinks and reds which complimented the bride's beautiful purple lehenga! The vividly colourful patterns against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset was a soulful celebration- a divine feeling one would’ve never experienced before.

Following the wedding pheras and jaimala, the entire wedding brigade had a grand Flower Holi to show gratitude to the Gods. Prabhuji Gaur Gopal Das blessed the ceremony with a beautiful kirtan. The resultant energy and vibrations were just unexampled. It was a typical 'PHOOLON KI HOLI' played by guests, with petals floating in the air for as long as it lasted.
