In twenty-three days (from 15th May- 5th June 2017) of my honeymoon: I hopped on planes, hired boats, drove through states and walked over the dams. I saw the bright lights of Vegas, cycled through San Francisco, visited adventure parks and soaked under the sun on the famous Miami beach.

Here I am, telling you how I planned my honeymoon to the US and how many cities I covered in the Dreamland.

Why USA?:  My partner and I always thought of going to a place that was unconventional for a honeymoon. We both wanted a mix of relaxation, romance, adventure and partying and the almighty answered our prayers by getting us through the US Visa (despite Donald Trump issues!)

Itinerary: Delhi- San Francisco (via Istanbul)- Los Angeles-Las Vegas- Orlando-Miami-Cruise-Key West-Mexico (Through grand carnival cruise)

Cost: The total expenses of the trip cost us around 7-8 lakhs

How we booked & hotels stayed at: We booked the hotels from Booking.com & Makemytrip.com  and the Apartment from Airbnb. We stayed at Carriage Inn in San Francisco, Rented an apartment in Los Angeles, Hilton Hotel in Orlando, The Redburry Hotel (Miami), Hotel Bellagio in Las Vegas, The Grand Carnival Cruise.

Some of our favourite moments /places from each city in the Honeymoon:

Miami: Miami has so many diverse facets to its various neighbourhoods that it’s hard to believe it all fits in one place.  I think, for us, it was a dream come true to be at a place that looked straight out of a painting. By day, you can appreciate amazing photorealistic wall paintings in Wynwood, then spend the evening immersed in jazz in Little Havana. Crossing town, you can’t help feeling like you’ve passed into another city. The best part about Miami is man-made beaches, they are enthralling and so lavishly kept. Over in Miami Beach, soak in the sun in the afternoon and enjoy the night with some music and drinks at the best bars around. The evening dinner scenes are a must have at south Miami beach, the hustle bustle explains the true essence of Miami.

San Francisco: The place that is famous for Microclimates and yes, you never know when you would need a jacket (unpredictable weather conditions!). This town gave us goosebumps for one minute and warmth the next. Starting from having corn dogs, salted caramel ice creams and wandering the city, this place will ease you in a romantic way. Golden Gate and Lombard Street is a must if you are a nature lover. For your food cravings, go to Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf. The best dessert we had is at Plow café and how can I forget, it’s a shopping paradise, brides-to-be, pay attention!

Los Angeles: This was a surprise package because the three days we spent here were some of the best on the entire trip. Not only is the place stunning, picture postcard material but also there is just this quaint feel about it that makes you want to fall in love with it. When in Los Angeles, don’t check into a fancy hotel- get an apartment from B&B, to explore the best houses in the world. We went to Rodeo Street and explored small yet costliest cafés in the USA. Gay bars, early morning breakfasts are the must go’s in this place. We went to Universal Studios and Santa Monica beach, the prime hotspots of LA.

Las Vegas: We planned to stay at the strip and watch the breath-taking view of the Bellagio fountains. This city never sleeps. We had the renowned buffets at The Cosmopolitan and Bellagio. Watched the famous live shows and drove to Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam.  Spent 3 nights over here and all the nights we were trying our luck at the casino. We also did the stratosphere rides which were actually full of excitement and entertainment.

The best part of the honeymoon was the road trips that we had. One road trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Las Vegas to Orlando and Orlando to Miami. Hunting through local bars was so uplifting. The best place that we explored during our road trip to Miami was West Palm. The whole city was built beside the ocean and makes it an attractive place to be, all are colourful villas.
