"As I sipped on my champagne glass, I realised there was something in my drink."
Kirti was on a dinner date at Grand Hyatt with Rushi, the boy she had been in love with for the last few years. They had just ordered champagne to end their romantic evening on a high, and here it was - a diamond ring sparkling in the glass. He was officially proposing! And in true Hollywood style.
She said yes, and gave him a hug and a kiss to seal the deal :)
As Hollywood as the proposal was, the wedding was in true desi style. With a celebration in the baap of all destination wedding cities in India - Udaipur - Kirti & Rushi tied the knot in a quintessential big fat Indian wedding. The Jag Mandir Island Palace was their wedding venue (one of the grandest spots in the entire country a couple can imagine getting hitched in!) and the Reception was held at The City Palace at Zenana Mahal.

But it was the Mehendi at noon that kicked off the festivities at Ananta Spa & Resorts. The venue was tastefully decorated by a team of wedding planners that the couple had especially chosen for how excited they were to create a beautiful memory! My Wedding Planning specialises in destination weddings in Rajasthan & Goa and Ruchita is the one who put together the pretty Mehendi decor.
What made the wedding extra special though was not the majestic locations but a thoughtful gesture by Rushi for his bride. Kirti is half Hindu and Catholic (her mother is from West Indies and her father belongs to Gujarat). She had assumed her hopes of walking down the aisle in a pretty white dress were a distant dream as all the wedding functions would be performed according to Hindu rites. Little did she know, Rushi has planned a surprise second wedding for her - in a traditional Christian ceremony! #DreamHusband!
On the Photographer, Radhika Pandit: Radhika is extremely energetic, talented, and has an eye for the most spectacular images which she is able to foresee as a photographer. My pre-wedding and wedding photographs speaks a million emotions and memories for a lifetime. She is one of the best photographers in the country and I couldn’t have been happier to choose her for my wedding.
On her Makeup Artist: I knew that I will not compromise on my make-up artist anyhow. A friend suggested Mallika Jolly & Vibha Jolly to me for my big day. I met them for a trial and finalized on the spot. Mallika gives you the look you’ve always wanted and Vibha, the hair expert is very approachable and will try to give you the best possible. I’ll forever be thankful to both of them for making me look like a princess on the most important days of my life.
On her Wedding Planners: As a young couple, we wanted our planners to be experienced, but young in age who are open to our thought process and design our wedding the way we had dreamt about it. After a lot of research, we met Aloha Mehta & Ruchita Paralkar from My Wedding Planning, they were warm, open to new ideas, energetic and most importantly excited to plan our big day!
