Let's be honest here, when it comes to our bridal outfit, we've fantasized about it more than our to-be-husbands because that has been our only inspiration to get married. *Giggles*

But on a serious note, with a plethora of do’s and don’ts for choosing the right outfit, something that plays a rather important role is the fabric which can change your look and be entirely responsible for your comfort on your D-day.

To make sure you are comfortable and easy on your wedding day, we've listed some tips to keep in mind while choosing the fabric for your bridal outfit.

#1 Don't Forget To Consider The SEASON You're Getting Married In

If your wedding is during the winters, opt for fabrics that will keep you warm and keep chills at bay. Silk, Brocade, or Velvet can be your first options. For a summer wedding, go for a lighter fabric to feel comfortable and breezy like cotton, georgettes and chiffon.

#2 Make Sure You Know Your BODY TYPE

Every girl has a different body shape and so what looked good on Deepika Padukone in Yeh Jawani hai Dewani is not necessarily going to look good on you too. Don’t fall for what is trending on social media and rather see for yourself what compliments your body shape. If you are naturally petite go for silk or organza which would add volume to your frame. For curvy brides, choosing brocade, velvet or georgette can help flaunt your curves.

#3  Know Your SKIN ALLERGIES

Remember that the ultimate goal of your wedding should not merely be to leave your guests in awe but rather to enjoy your wedding too. Fabrics such as net, lace and georgette can cause rashes when worn for an extended duration. If you have a sensitive skin choose soft fabric such as cotton or silk. Discuss your allergies with your designer and they shall make the right choice.

#4 Is It in Your BUDGET?

Just like the style of the same dress differs in the variety of fabrics, similarly does the cost. While silk would burn a hole in your pocket, velvet would have a moderate cost and net would be the cheapest of all.

#5 Embroidery Friendly Or No?

If you are looking for handwork embroidery on your outfit then raw silk, velvet, net would be a good choice but if you are looking for printed work with lace trimmings, go for cotton.
