Simple weddings have their own charm, and when they come along with an oh-so-adorable couple, we get double the reason to not give it a miss. Something similar happened when we stumbled upon Aakanksha and Mudit's wedding, every little and big detail of which got us sweeping off our feet (and ultimately writing this blog).

From their easily DIY-able decorations to their loot-worthy sartorial choices, their wedding shenanigans were brimming with ample amount of uniqueness. And how can we miss mentioning about the oh-so-gorgeous bride who has already taken the internet by the storm and is giving all the to-be brides some major outfit goals in that sultry off shoulder blouse? One look through their magical wedding photographs captured by the ace team of Mohit Jaura Photography and you won't be done swooning over these lovelies.

Cozy Wedding Revelries of Aakanksha & Mudit in Delhi

Mehendi

Aakanksha and Mudit's wedding fiesta kickstarted with a fun & vibrant Mehendi ceremony amid the presence of close friends and family members. The venue for their Mehendi was gorgeously decorated in vivid hues of pink, green, yellow and red. A beautiful photo wall created out of printed & colorful drapes was especially put up for the guests to take pictures against it. Marigold garlands, gota dream catchers and Rajasthani umbrellas were some of the other decor highlights.

For an easy-breezy yet stylish look, Aakanksha wore a long, elegantly sequinned Kurta with a flared skirt and accessorized her look with a sleek polki matha patti and matching earrings. Mudit, on the other hand, donned a basic chikankari kurta-pajama and teamed it with a pair of kolhapuris.

Sangeet

The intimate Mehendi was followed by a jazzy Sangeet bash which was a quaint affair with the couple all dressed up in mesmerizing outfits. Aakanksha looked stunning in a white and yellow gota patti lehenga. She steered clear of going overboard with the jewellery and only picked a dainty maang tikka and a few bangles to pair with her lehenga. Keeping his look all simple yet sophisticated, Mudit wore a peacock blue kurta-pajama with a classy Nehru jacket in wine.

The color scheme for the ceremony was orange and yellow. Marigold curtains, yellow drapes and fairy lights were the key decor elements. However, what stood out for us was the unstoppable couple dancing their hearts off throughout their Sangeet.

Haldi & Chooda Ceremony

The next morning, Aakanksha and Mudit dived into their big day celebrations with a festive Haldi. The decorations for the ceremony were beautifully done with hanging glass bottles, pompom trellis and tassels. The bride looked effervescent in an aqua blue salwar kameez paired with beautiful floral jewellery by Prune India. What added more charm to the ceremony were their traditional proceedings that saw everyone frolicking around.

Wedding

The setup for their wedding was magical with unmissable elements like tuberose curtains, hanging paper lanterns and fairy light & bulb decorations. But what has got our hearts flutter on repeat is the bride's oh-so-gorgeous wedding day look.

Dressed in a cherry red lehenga with intricate gold embroideries and a sultry off shoulder blouse, Aakanksha made for a beautiful bride. She perfectly fashioned her look with an elegant emerald choker, a chaandbali matha patti and a stunning pair of floral kaleeras by Prune India. Green kohled eyes, fluttery lashes, prominent cheeks and cherry red lips finished off her look.

Talking about her experience with her wedding makeup artist, Pratishtha Arora, the bride says,

Pratishtha! Gosh, what do I say about her? I've known her since college which makes me so so proud of her. She's the best in her work- hands down. Brides should hire her with blind eyes. She's helped me with not only makeup but the overall look altogether. Jewellery, colors to go for, draping ideas, hair ideas, what'll work, what won't every single thing! She was my Fairy Godmother!!

Mudit too made a dapper groom in an ivory Sherwani teamed with a beige and red safa, a multi-stringed pearl mala and a fancy brooch.

Their cutesy love story

Aakanksha and Mudit's is not a typical love story. They had both set out with their search on a matrimony site and stumbled upon each other by coincidence. With Mudit working in the US and Aakanksha here in India, they were mostly found either talking on video calls with each other or exchanging texts on Whatsapp. "We knew we had time at our hands and our parents never pressured us into any anything, so we took our time to explore and understand each other."

Mudit made special trips to India as he knew Aakanksha was the one and just needed that one final push to take the plunge. The couple met frequently, made short trips to different places together, before signing the deal! Eventually, they had their parents meet, which was the super awkward situation for them, nervous as hell, they were only praying things would work well and they did! Very soon, the two families were planning out the wedding and the various other events preceding the main one.
