You’ve picked the perfect outfits for your wedding, chosen the shoes and accessories with it, and even got truck loads of other clothes to make yourself comfortable post wedding – so now what? Often when shopping for your wedding trousseau, we’re so caught up in that we forget that each outfit needs to be taken care of in a different manner. Just how you have to make sure your jewellery is properly stored, similarly you have to ensure that your bridal trousseau is nicely piled and packed post wedding.

Here are some tips:

Always fold your heavy sarees and suits in layers Make it a point to fold these suits and sarees properly in layers because it helps in maintaining their longevity. This will also dodge the creases and wrinkles on the fabric. Hangers can stretch the material of your dress.

Do not store your trousseau dresses in a plastic wrapped case Dresses should always be kept in a cloth material wrapped case so that the shine of the dress doesn't fade away and get yellow over the period of time.

Dry clean your clothes in time As you know, when you send your outfits for dry cleaning, there is no water used but a solvent instead. Usually, wedding trousseau contains heavy-work suits that usually degrade in water and destroy the gentle fabrics and if delay the process of dry cleaning, it might get hard to get rid of the stains. So, to keep your trousseau fresh and new, prefer dry cleaning over washing.

Don’t over stuff outfits in the same place Overstuffing and keeping your trousseau suits and sarees on one another may affect the patterns and work, which can lead to making your clothes look old. Keep it in different preservation boxes in your cupboards.

Storage place should be at normal temperature Be careful not to store your beautiful dresses in the attic where changes in temperature might be extreme. Your storage place should be a normal controlled room, a dry place, away from direct sunlight. This will help in retaining the moisture as well the colour of your attire.
