It is said that “matches are made in heaven” and this came true for Jyotpriya and Nishant.

The love story of this cute couple was a complete sphere of destiny where their common friends played the love cupids. Their first meeting lasted for hours and something strong was felt from both the sides. A relationship which started with a sweet friendship ended with a knot for a lifetime.

That dreamy proposal

Being the expressive bride, Jyotpriya turned the tables and proposed Nishant under the stars in a cosy setup. Isn’t that romantic? But even Nishant had a surprise for his lady love. He went down on his knees and proposed Jyotpriya with a rose at her house!

And they exchanged the ring

The couple kept their engagement a hush event in Sylven Chef, Vasant Kunj. While Jyotpriya wore a stone studded high waist deep blue skirt and sheer neckline blouse of the same colour, Nishant looked dashing in a charcoal grey three piece suit.

All about the wedding planning

After the dreamy proposal from both the sides, it was time to plan the big day. The couple decided to save some bucks by not splurging on the wedding planners and plan the special day on their own that took about 4-5 months.

The bashing “Sangeet”

The Sangeet was held in Jyotpriya’s hometown, Bhiwani (Haryana). To give a personal touch to the sangeet décor, a beautifully decorated seating was kept for the bride, in which ‘Dulhaniya’ was written all over it with marigold.

And guess what else happened? Nishant entered with a bang to the bride’s Sangeet to give surprise to his to-be-wife. The complete set-up was planned by the bride’s brother and his wife and they were successful to keep it as a secret from her.

The bright orange leheriya lehenga with gota booti work teaming with a heavy embroidered blouse stole all the glances on the Sangeet day as Jyotpriya wanted to give a Rajasthani touch to her outfit. The wings to her idea were given by Alpana Mittal of Alpana Neeraj. The smart bride did her own makeup for the sangeet. Cool! Isn’t it?

Wedding day

The wedding was planned for February and the couple decided to have an open venue for the big day. The Eden Grand farmhouse in Faridabad was booked for the wedding. Our beautiful bride made a grand entry on her wedding by riding a bike with her brother. The idea was suggested by her brother and as we know how she loves to experiment she was super excited to enter with a ‘SWAG’. Jyotpriya wore a red lehenga with peacock motifs from Frontier Raas and teamed it with a heavy embroidered dupatta.  While Nishant looked classy wearing a tailor-made black sherwani with Zari embroidery which he paired with golden pyjamas, red silk turban and golden Punjabi jootis. The makeup of the bride was done by Savleen Manchanda.

Word of advice from the bride

Jyotipriya has some pretty good suggestions for the to-be wed couples. Her advice is to choose a simple wedding location as at the end of the day it’s about you both and not others. You don’t need to splurge money on a wedding planner instead, plan yourself. Take new theme ideas from none other than Pinterest.
