After you’ve spent months planning the perfect wedding, the thought of planning and packing for your honeymoon can feel like a nightmare (packing, again!). Stuffing your suitcase too much can be a problem but then again you might regret not carrying things you wanted to.

 So, when I took a 23-day honeymoon to the USA, I realised there are a few must-have things you need to pack for your honeymoon. Apart from your clothing, cosmetics, and daily essentials, I’ve made your life easier by listing down things that every bride should keep in mind while packing for your honeymoon.

Vital documents Keep photocopies of your passport, credit cards, other necessary certificates. Also, keep your originals in your handbag so that you do not lose them. Keep your itinerary along with your hotel address ready with you.

Handy handbag This need not be that huge designer bag, a drawstring bag will do just fine. Get one that is waterproof so that you can store your honeymoon essentials, like passport, creams, band-aids and other essentials in it. Also, he could carry a waist pouch which will hold his documents and make all travelling hassle-free.

Blister proof walking shoes You would definitely get tired wearing heels on your wedding celebrations. The honeymoon is the time to relax and to utilise your honeymoon to the fullest, take a pair of comfortable yet trendy shoes. Prefer keeping cushioned insole and breathable lining shoes to avoid walking down to local pharmacy.

Right lingerie Choosing the right material is essential and pick pieces that are easy to pack. You don’t want your delicate lingerie or your padded bras to take too much space in your luggage.

DON’T forget to carry plastic bags and ziplocs You’ll find these especially practical for toiletry items and loading dirty clothes. You can also pack all your garments in clear plastic bags and then divide them by items, such as shirts, dresses, and shorts. This helps keep things systematized and take full advantage of space.

Power banks & adaptors This is an important device to carry to stay connected. You will be travelling from one place to another in the city and you will be needing your phone to book the cabs, to browse through websites to get the best bars & restaurants near you and of course the saviour Google Maps. Plus, carry adaptors according to the country you’re travelling to - plugs points and socket types vary from country to country. Power banks are a must!

Selfie stick This is an era of social media and keeping a stack of new pictures. Selfie sticks can make your journey easier and include everything of everybody. You can click full images without asking help from people passing by. Keep it in your handbag and click picture-perfect pictures!

Portable speakers Not every day you will be going out, sometimes you will be relaxing in your hotel room during this time you will be needing speakers with good tunes. So, update your playlist and carry the speakers to your honeymoon.
