How magnificent can a wedding be when two planners and designers decide to get married? Plus, throw in our much-loved decorator, Devika Narain & Co. and our favourite photographer Stories by Joseph Radhik.

The result? BEYOND BEAUTIFUL.

Last winter, two Mumbai-kers, Anusha Patel (the bride) who runs Invitations by It's An Affair and Dhrumil Sejpal (the groom) who heads the Jam Centre Design got married in Muscat, Oman. Before we reveal every single detail about their incredible destination wedding, let me tell you that this the couple who made an Instagram account dedicated to their wedding!

How They Met & Proposal

Anusha has known Dhrumil for nearly two years but it was their parents who thought that the couple makes a perfect pair. So basically it was an arranged-cum-love marriage. The proposal is what is making me go weak at the knees - Dhrumil officially proposed Anusha on a trip to Turkey amidst their hot air balloon ride. He even arranged for a photographer to capture this dreamy moment! *Dear future husband, are you listening?*

After the proposal came to their grand wedding and as the bride and groom are planners and designers themselves, they wanted someone to cater to their minimalistic style yet maintain the Gujarati heritage, and no better than Devika Narain to do the decor! Shangri-La Muscat was the venue for their two-day wedding celebrations with almost 300 guests.

Mehendi: As Anusha wasn't keen on wearing red on the wedding, she wore a red colour crop top lehenga on her mehendi instead. The gorgeous decor took inspiration from the shades Omani waters - a mix of seafoam and aqua with a hint of lime and pink. The seating was kept low floor to have a calm and composing ambience.

Sangeet: Devika Narain says, "For the sangeet, we wanted to create an experience of chic royalty for this evening; something that represents the new age maharaja, minimal and opulent at the same time. Guests are made to believe that they are at the Sultan’s house for the dinner and the entire ballroom is converted into his dining quarters- the walls represent the old over the top style of Arabic architecture with jaalis and arches".

Wedding: The groom wanted the focus of after wedding to be on the mandap. The beautiful cream and gold mandap was set against the aqua blue waters and was custom made in India.

Reception: Devika adds, "The reception had a different design from the other functions. The central dance floor had a hanging cake installation. Hand embroidered napkins and beautiful white flowers defined the tables."

So brides, it's time to ditch Goa and Rajasthan for your destination wedding, Middle East is where you should head to!
