Rahul Mishra is a master of structured silhouettes and embroidered fabrics. But is he just high fashion? Or does he create clothes that would look as good in a bride's trousseau as they do on the runway?
I fell in love with Rahul Mishra's designs last year, when he created simply beautiful gold lehengas and soft hued anarkalis I could see a bride adding to her trousseau. This year, with his Monsoon Diaries collection, he added even more watercolour shades to his signature structured outfits and gave brides more than enough to love.
Simran, our 19-year-old fashionista intern, was equally enamoured by the incredible workmanship - "I heard that 200 karigars worked for 4 months to create the pieces I saw last night! As for outfits fit for a wedding, the powder blue outfits (lehengas and anarkalis) were perfect for a bride for a day event. And the whites were also stunning. I can definitely see these being added to the bridal trousseau for before and after a wedding."
Here's everything our team picked out for Brides - from jacket lehengas to anarkalis in shades ranging from soft pinks to mints and deeper hues:
Does his lack of bling and use of offbeat colours bother you, or is this what your dream trousseau looks like?
