Every girl dreams of being the most beautiful bride the world has ever seen. As the wedding date draws nearer, so does the onset of anxiety and nervousness. To avoid the occurrence of stress-related skin problems, you can follow a skin regimen from the comfort of your homes and keep annoying skin troubles at bay. Give yourself a beautiful bridal glow without spending a bomb, read on to know how!
No matter what season, you must keep your skin hydrated at all times. Drink up to 5 liters of water per day and flush out the toxins in your body. Refresh your system without indulging in expensive parlor treatments and watch the magic of hydration smoothen and even out your skin. Apart from water, indulge in citrus fruits. Juicy slices of orange, lime, watermelon, and pineapples can make for a great mid-meal snack while providing your skin with the benefits of citrus. Instead of juices, eat the whole fruit for a generous intake of fiber. What’s more, whole fruits keep you feeling full for longer making you reach out less and less for unhealthy snacks.
Give yourself a relaxing facial at home by mixing half a cup of lukewarm water with two tablespoons of oatmeal. Once the oats have softened, mix in a tablespoon of plain yogurt, honey, egg white, and lemon juice. Steam your face before applying the above mixture. You can add drops of lavender or tea tree essential oils to the pot of boiling water as these are both natural cleansers and have a great fragrance too. Now, apply the mask and let it dry on your skin which should take about 15-20 minutes. Wash with cool water and apply a light moisturizer immediately to keep the skin from drying out.
While we diligently slather our skins with moisturizer, many times, we ditch the scrub. However, scrubbing is an essential part of a healthy skin routine. A scrub is a superb way to rid the skin of dead cells leaving it feeling soft, plump, and pretty! A great facial scrub can be made by using ingredients easily found in your kitchen. Mix equal parts granulated sugar, lemon juice and your choice of massage oil like coconut, jojoba, or olive to get a paste like consistency. Add essential oils for an enriching fragrance and use as and when required. This scrub stays in the refrigerator for weeks!
For a complete skin detoxification, look no further than two ingredients namely Epsom salt and baking soda. Mix 1 cup of Epsom salt and 2 cups of baking soda and fill the tub with ambient hot water. For added effect, add generous amounts of essential oils and soak in this detox water bath for an hour. Not only will you come out squeaky clean, but your skin will have become softer, especially the rough patches around elbows and knees.
Along with beautiful skin, how can one forget the health of one’s lips? Exfoliate the lips with a simple mixture of granulated sugar and coconut oil to prevent them from drying. Crushed rose petals also help in lightening the color of your lips if you are looking for the perfect pink pout!
The skin has a natural tactic of keeping from drying out by the production of natural oils. While this is a good thing, sometimes this is more than normal production of oil resulting in a shiny, oily face. A good way to arrest excessive sebum is a skin mask enriched with the goodness of skin friendly elements that keep oil glands under check and skin glowing. Mix a tablespoon of gram flour, a tablespoon of dried neem leaves powder, 1 tablespoon of honey, rose water and yogurt each. Mix this into a smooth paste and apply on the face. Wash off when dry and bid goodbye to oily skin! You are the star of your wedding, so it is imperative that you look every inch the Diva that you are. Inculcate a healthy skin-care regimen as early on as you can so you can floor everyone with your perfect bridal glow at the wedding!
